He's making 4.29 in 2012...so they can offer 9-10Mil? with incentives could it get up to 45?

Will NIC play in the Olympics with no signed contract? I thought he was avoiding their practice games (anyone know for sure?) until he had a deal done. I am not sure if this is correct but I have to believe he is starting to get pissed about this Minny situation.

Minni beat writer Wolfson alluded to this just an hour ago...and said there will be a resolution today because Batum wants to leave to France

Would be risky, but I imagine he would play.
I would think he would get slightly annoyed. I think right now his agent did a good job of getting him a big deal, or getting one potentially lined up, but just seems idiotic ot me to stop negotiating with any other team, but also to refuse to negotiate with us.

Hollinger has even picked up on Kahn's penchant for all-things Portland...

Unbelievable, didn't even think of this. Minnesotlandia. RT @littleanecdote Of course - why wouldn't Minny get Dante Cunningham? #ripcity

nic? They can start him at anything they have cap space for up to the 6yr-and-under Max (13.668M). You can offer 4.5% raises each year (not compounding).

The reported "offer sheet Nic signed" that no one has seen nor has been turned in to the league was for 4/46.5M. That means the starting salary has to be at least $10,963,437. Currently they have 53.6M in cap space taken (of the 58M cap), so they can offer a contract starting at 4.4M. Which would be 4/18.6M.

Kahn and Bayno are so pissed that they weren't offered a position in Portland and now they seek revenge.

But if they trade Wes, they get another 4.2...thats what i was saying

They have to trade Webster and get nothing back. So they'd be trading him to a team with, enough cap space to trade straight-up for Webster and giving them something to make it worth their while to take on 600k in guaranteed salary for someone they're doing a favor for. And that only gets them to 10.1M, so they could offer a 4/42.8M deal.

If Batum negotiated with Portland, maybe the Blazers would be interested in frontloading the contract to try to target cap space in future offseasons and make the overpayment more tolerable.

I am a bit surprised that Batum's agent hasn't approached the Blazers with the idea of just having Nic sign for five years starting in the $9-10m range and just be done with it.

This has been great, I no longer care if we lose Batum because this whole Twolves saga, and seeing Brian rip apart everyone on twitter, has been more entertaining then all of the Blazers last year.

If I was Olshey, I'd offer up 5/50 with a player option after 4 years as a generous consolation prize, to get some good will from Nic. 5/50 is less per year (starting at 9 or so), and gives Nic the flexibility of the player option. But it depends on if Olshey thinks we can keep Nic from demanding a trade next year or not.

The Columbian piece was a great read.

Without the Ndiaye propaganda makes all the difference.

I'd pick up Webster off waivers. The price is right, and he's shown he can score in spurts. Depends on his health though...

RT @ChrisVernonShow: heard that if deal goes through with #TWolves + Grizz it will be Wayne Ellington for Dante Cunningham.

....

But now, given the likelihood of his return, he needs to clean up this mess so his fans can clean out their memory banks.

If not, no matter how much he struggles over the next four years, he's going to earn his money.

Boom... that's a truth bomb.

Kahn probably thinks he can prevail if he adds more ex-Blazers to Minny

Someone dubbed it earlier Blazers East, after I pointed out the same thing. Minnesota Blazers Retirement team!

Over on RubeChat they're talking about signing Oden just to "mess with the Portland fans".

Ellington for Dante actually decreases their cap space by another 7k.

Yeah, that would show us. Stupid Blazers, dumping guys who retire from multiple knee injuries.
