This whole thing is so... Kahnmical!

Or Kahmical? Something like that....

After the past few years, and the crazy things our management sometimes pulls...

Thanks Kahn! You have reminded me it could be worse.

Taylor (Wolves owner): "The offer-sheet will be signed Sunday, we're going to call their bluff."

In other words: "We're desperate for a S&T, but Paul Allen wont budge."

sha-BLAM!

If they actually got Batum I wonder if the T-pups have the cap room to pay all their verbal promises.

Kahn has already said thet he has made "no other verbal contract offers"

so what about Roy?

Ummmmm can someone tell Taylor that it wasn't Portland who got caught bluffing.

What's this clown talking about? What bluff did Portland do....... all we have said so far is that we will match.

Minnesota's general manager, David Kahn, was asked about that signing during his teleconference and Kahn responded saying Batum can't sign the sheet until Sunday night.

CSNNW.com immediately got in touch with Kahn after the teleconference and he explained that Batum did sign the offer sheet on Thursday. Minnesota's plan was to hold on to Batum signature while they were engaged in sign-and-trade talks with Portland, but since Minnesota had no cap space at the time, the league ruled the offer sheet invalid and Batum must sign it again.

Apparently, a team can't even hold on to a signature without cap space.
Hopefully, that sets the records straight.

Kahn could have saved himself some embarrassment if he had just read what Brian posted on this board. What a dufus.

I sure as heck would not be celebrating POR "outwitting" MIN and overpaying Batum at $11.5\year....

I will be! Find me what all the SF in the league make and lets compare talent and $$$

This has been fun and all, but let's face it, in the end, either the Blazers get a sign and trade done by Sunday or they have to match a whale of a contract for Batum.

If Match, Miiny has cap space to go after another FA (Lee, OJ Mayo or someone else) or Minny overpays but get a young promising SF.

The wolves willingness to overpay Batum takes away some leverage by the Blazers when it comes to a sign and trade. If Olshey doesn't plan to match, he needs to get something from the Wolves and will likely back off on his demands.

I'm hoping the Blazers match, but because Minny has not given Blazers what they are asking for thus far, Minny will now see if Ptd really is going to match or lower their demands in a S&T. . . so in a way it is calling Olshey's potential bluff.

Hope we match! Don't want to watch Babbitt as our starting SF.......

I have little doubt that Olshey comes through on his promise to match the T'Wolves' offer. I hope that he makes them stew for the full three days and comes in with the match at the 11th hour. May as well tie up Minny for a few days as retribution while the Blazers continue to shop for additional players before committing to Batum. In any event, I'd say there's zero chance that Kahn gets to refer to Batum as Manna from France.

This is why you match. He's not worth $11.5, but he still has a lot of potential.

he is worth the money people, compared to the entire league, he will be slightly overpaid for his production as he is now, but if he improves at all it is a clear win

How much is Batum overpaid? Maybe 2-3 Million? And what percentage of the cap is that? About 3-5%? OMG the blazers are crippled for four long years!!!!!!!

So if it were up to you, who is our starting SF next season?

HCP with a (indirectly) great point.

Batum's development has been stunted in Nate's system. In his four years under Nate the Blazers were dead last in pace.
