OKC wont let Harden go into FA, same with illblockya, they can get nuts value for trading them before.
Probably...accumulating assets including having cap space to take back a contract...
He did. But Lillard costs less. And he'll be better. From Day one? No, but this kid has it. I honestly believe he's a B-Roy, but of PG's. I haven't been this excited about a Blazers rook in years.
Well we know what Dragic is capable of....Lillard has a long way to go to prove he is the B-Roy of PG...an all star caliber player, of which he needs to be, let alone better than Dragic is now...
It will be interesting to see the next few years how he measures up to guys like Barnes & Rivers....
Nice straw man argument. And by the way, we are talking about this year.....The odds of the Blazers attaining the service of Harden or Smith are about as good as Minny attaining the services of Nic. The question is what will the cost be and would it be worth the price. Cap space is always imaginary for a small market team until you find a player that believes in the operation and financial benefits it provides. If, and it's a big IF, next year paints that kind of picture for a potential free agent, I would hope that player would be of a larger presence than Harden or Smith.
Does Batum believe in this organization? He certainly expressed desire to leave it...and I don't think it is a strawman arguement....you asked for attainable options and I listed 2...and I am sure there would be others as well...Both Harden and Smith could be obtainable...not a given, but attainable....I think either Harden or Smith would be a significant upgrade over what Batum provides right now...and while having a solution RIGHT NOW this season, I am sure is preferable, POR is rebuilding and they certainly will have to acquire certain pieces thoughout the next few years....
