Give him a break, I give him props for knowing how to send out a tweet.
I don't think Cleveland can trade away either since they're both included in our deal even though we only get 1.What happen if Cleveland in the next 4 years decides to sell another 2019 2nd round pick? How does that work?

They could probably do the first.I'll bet they could do a deal like 'you get whichever of the two picks Portland doesn't get', or 'you get the Lakers pick if Portland does not exercise their option to take it, otherwise you get the 2023 and 2024 2nd round picks'.

So Portland had a certain amount of cap room to sign players and make other lopsided trades. Granted this was a lopsided trade, but these players go against their cap and it goes against their flexibility, no? Should I assume it's the teams goal to be bad this year and not make any effort to improve?
Miller will be on our cap (for 2.85 MIL unless we buy him out then that number could go lower) but Haywood at 10.5 MIL won't be on our cap as his contract is unguaranteed if we cut him before August 1st.So Portland had a certain amount of cap room to sign players and make other lopsided trades. Look at this way. Ticket prices will be less on the Internet. So Portland had a certain amount of cap room to sign players and make other lopsided trades. About 23 MIL left I believe. A lot...So with Miller on the books, how much money does that leave the team then. Guesstimate?
Miller is close to LeBron. I'm sure Cleveland made some kind of deal as to where they could get him back.We will waive Haywood and trade miller for a second rounder...even as wounded with time miller is he is still valuable to contenders who want a three and done guy

Not only is that illegal, but it was specifically modified for this reason in the 2011 CBA.Miller is close to LeBron. I'm sure Cleveland made some kind of deal as to where they could get him back.
Coon CBA said:When a team trades a player who is subsequently waived by the receiving team, it cannot claim the player off waivers or re-sign the player until the one-year anniversary of the trade, or until the July 1 following the end of his contract6, whichever is earlier7.
No they didn't. It is 80% of the cap you have to spend I believe. But, the penalty is really no penalty at all. If they don't hit it then Paul just has to write a check to the current players.Seems kinda high, but I'll take your word for it...
It's also been said that Portland has to spend a certain amount of money before the season starts. Did they reach that requirement with this deal?

Why does Portland do this deal? What are we getting out of this? Or what's the point?
A free asset
Costs em 2.8, no?
