no but the optics of a team plagued with scandal (and overlooking abuse against women) hiring a guy with his checkered past is the epitome of tone deaf (tone blind? i dunno). nearly universally, their moves this summer have been deemed a disaster.oh so he was forced to pull out of consideration due to fan backlash?
Windhorst on his podcast last night said that:
"Mike D'Antoni performed very well in his interview with Portland, and obviously he doesn't have to prove himself to anybody. But whatever plan he brought to the table to operate that team, I am told was very well received. The Blazers are also aware of the fact that if Milwaukee loses this series and Bud gets fired, he would be a candidate in Milwaukee. Chauncey is still a candidate there, but I'm told D'Antoni scored some points with a certain all star point guard who was also there at his interview."
If the Blazers Brass thinks she's the best coach for this team at this time, that's fine. But if the statement in that tweet is the reason, that's the worst possible reason. I kinda don't think that tweet is accurate. This is just getting scary now. I do not want a head coach "because" she is a woman.
We want a winner not a statement. If Jody said something like "She has done her research and interviewed the candidate' If she was saying more than just being the first i would feel better. But the way things are right now?
I'm not thinking this is the coach the Blazers need at all.

why?Noooooooooo.
Someone's ass is my guess.So
where are all these reports about Jody wanting Hammon coming from?
I seriously hope Barry was brought in to talk to about Neil's job more than coachingI seriously wonder if Barry wasn't brought in to talk to about Neil's job more than coaching
Neil Olshey has repeatedly shown his contempt for both the fans and the media. Talk about an ego.Wrong. Neil doesn’t care what fans think of him. Neil cares deeply what his peers think

that team now has the front office, coach, and player (look up porzingis' exit from NY and the stuff the Mavs brushed under the rug) with a history now, and a leader in Cuban who seemingly doesn't give a shit.
All this... for jason kidd. just glad it aint my team.
PreachNeil should have been fired for bungling the LMA situation.
He should have been fired for what he did in 2016.
He should have been fired for wasting our picks on Zach Collins.
He should have been fired along with Stotts after we lost to the Pels.
He should have been fired WITH Stotts after the Denver series.
How is this dude still here?
Fucking joke.Windhorst on his podcast last night said that:

what are you going on about again? I'm just saying Jason Kidd is a horrible coach and Mark Cuban is a dumbass who just undid any of the contrition he faked in the aftermath of their front office scandal. Their fans on every forum are pissed.Weren’t you one of the people saying the Mavs job is better?
Also, everything you just listed is a point against your hypothesis that “it’s not just a Portland thing.”
As if it weren’t “just a Portland thing”… all the reasons you listed would be why he wouldn’t even be able to sniff the word Dallas on a keyboard.
Simple. Because they haven't completed "the process".I just don't know why it's taking so God damned long to announce it. Even if it is Billups they could announce it. They don't have to wait.

patience, grasshopper. lolFucking joke.
Olshey- “we need more defense”
also Olshey- “let’s hire a 70 year old retread who’s teams don’t play defense
still Olshey- “the fans here are rubes and will think making it to the second round is competing for a title
Do you know how to read?what are you going on about again? I'm just saying Jason Kidd is a horrible coach and Mark Cuban is a dumbass who just undid any of the contrition he faked in the aftermath of their front office scandal. Their fans on every forum are pissed.
clearly not. not sure we can deduce the same from you as well.Do you know how to read?
clearly not. not sure we can deduce the same from you as well.
I pointed to those Mavs forum pieces to show that the backlash towards a potential Kidd hire is not unique to Portland. The fact that dumbass Mark Cuban ignores all the optics doesn't remove the fact that nearly everyone in Dallas hates the hire.
What do you not understand about this? Follow the logic.
Also, wtf is happening to this place? The snark, the disrespectful comments are not warranted. Newbies ruining the community.
i don't mind the counter points, but there's a level of respect people used to have here. now it's all just snark and condescension when people can't get their point across in a cogent manner. whatever it is, the level of discourse has gone down a tank. You should see how many people I have on ignore at this point. I imagine if I didn't have them on ignore this place would be much less enjoyable. I have quite a few...... fans?..... who like to constantly shit on my posts.

is the "other" someone we/nba twitter have discussed here before (barry/staley), or completely out of left field? there's a few assistants that i'm particularly interested in that haven't been mentioned before.Apparently Dan & Toni have a decent plan for the defense
Billups has a decent plan for a lead assistant
Heard nothing about Hammons
There is still another

maybe it's just a few posters, or maybe i'm just out-growing this place. or maybe everyone's just frustrated with the direction of the team without hope. i dunno. oh well.
