Hopefully some of y'all can quit dogging Terry MF Stotts now

He won't. Dame loves him and Neil won't make any drastic changes.

And because the Blazers are in the freakin WCF when absolutely nobody thought they could get there, especially after Nurk went down. Firing Stotts after a run like this because the Blazers don’t beat the Warriors would be bush league. Good luck attracting a major coach after that.

Nick Nurse says 'hello'. Toronto fired the coach of the year.

And this is EXACTLY the mindset that is holding this team back. Being happy with getting this far, while Dame is almost 29 years old, or being happy with getting the third seed, or whatever moral victory we're happy about is EXACTLY the reason why this team hasn't made any significant strides in the past five years.

Say what? There are 4 teams left playing and the Blazers are one of them.

And that wouldn't be the case if it were up to Stotts. Remember, he tried to lose the final game which would have made them the #4 seed and facing GS in the 2nd round where the Playoff run would have ended. The WCF run is as much thanks to Anfernee Simons as it is to Stotts.

Please let that be the case.

I think that is more of a possibility then people realize. It seemed like she caught the fever after game 7 against Denver. If she did she could realize that this team is very close to winning a championship and maybe what is needed is a new voice to lead them there.

With the national embarrassment of Game 1 and now this game Stotts is making it easy for her to fire him. Even more so if we get swept on our home court.

Don't be surprised if it happens.

And most of the people around here agreed with that strategy, and we’re mad at Stotts for letting the scrubs win, because most didn’t think that the Blazers could beat the mighty Thunder to get out of the first round.

If CJ doesn’t brick his last four shots the Blazers win and all of this Stotts bashing is unnecessary. Just saying.

he actually bricked his last 6 shots...all in the last 7 minutes of the game. In that 7 minutes, Portland took 12 shots and CJ took half of them, missing every time. Worse is that Curry and Hood were open 3 of those times and CJ chose to shoot instead of pass...and Curry was hot

This is so correct.

When a team falls short, people want to find someone to blame (never credit the other team). The easiest person to blame that takes the least amount of critical thinking is blaming the coach. The sad reality is that Golden St has an incredible amount of talent and that's why they've had all the success they've had for the past 5 years.
This is so crazy to me.

We literally gave up in game 1, a winnable game, putting a million times more pressure on game 2 in which we choked away at the end. So instead of being up 2-0 or at worse 1-1 we are down 2-0 and have to beat the champs 4 out of 5 games to win the series.

Or is it all just sunshine and rainbows since we got this far?

Aw. Shit. I just realized what thread I was in. Now I feel like a damn hypocrite after what I said the other day.

Sorry @RonBrewer.

The only people who were okay with that strategy were people who only cared about getting some sort of moral victory by winning a 1st round matchup. Several of the people criticizing Stotts were pissed we tried to tank that game because it meant a tougher path to a deep playoff run.

I was mad we didn't go for the higher seed.

Who cares if at the end of the day we're still out?

In the words of Ricky Bobby, "if you're not first, you're last."

You don't get a prize for making the WCF.

Same.

There are a total of 7 posters on this board all in on bashing the coach. Those posters post about 40% of the comments of the entire forum. Some of them are even willing to sit up all night and do nothing but bash a head coach that has produced more with less than pretty much any coach has in the history of the league.
It's fine as that is their prerogative to do so but don't think because every comment you make gets the same like from the same few people that you are correct. Most people knowledgeable about the game know what Stotts has accomplished and that he will continue for the next year building a winner and a winning culture here in Portland.

It took us 20 yrs to get to this position and we're pissing it away. Might take us another 20 to come back here.

Most people knowledgeable? Players on both sides, the media, former coaches, and writers around the country all were stunned at Stotts' coaching strategy in Game 1. Then again, those people may also be away of his abysmal playoff coaching record that was padded this season by Anfernee Simons disregarding a game plan to lose and keeping them away from the Warriors in Round 2.

Hahahaha.

The 7 posters hes referring to are some of the most knowledgeable people on this forum too. He's a funny guy.

Nurkic disagrees.
If KD leaves, next season we're good as anyone in the West. Okay, Warriors are gonna be probably better, but not like all these years.

Turner and Leonard contracts are killing us. If we had Kanter, Curry and Hood of the bench next year, imagine, best bench in the league. Fuck Neil and all media that gives props to him.

No, thats not why I think I'm correct. I'm correct because Im right. Theres a difference.

And no one's going to listen to anyone who will never criticize Stotts, or think he's flawless.

Nobody is sitting on this forum all night. Seems like youre doing what you do best, which is to make up some random insult to pin to someone because you cant stand anyone speaking poorly of your precious coach.

Pst, by the way, its more than 7.
