How we as a fanbase can be more Seattle inclusive.

Why is it okay for cities like Boston and New York to have a rivalry, but we can't hate Seattle? They have been our rivals for decades.

Ducks/Huskies

Blazers/Sonics

Timbers/Sounders

Why is this so hard to understand?

No one said you can't hate. Just at least be rationale

I call bullshit. Why does it have to be either or for everyone? Why cant some of us enjoy both places?

Yeah. As long as the other places aren't Detroit, Gary Indiana, or Flint Michigan..... I'm.down with that.

Have you ever been to Gary Indiana? I have. One of the wildest war aftermath like memories I will ever have.

Seattle really enjoys the cute little thing we do with beer but they don't really understand the whole Rip City thing. A simple name change to the NW Brewsters and a motto change to Sip City! would make it a lot more enjoyable for them. Everyone likes to drink/sip beer.

You sound like someone who was't born in Portland..... burn the heretic!

Born in Alsea Oregon out in the woods with no doctor. Attended various grade schools in Portland. graduated from Madison. Id say im from the area, and Id say I consider Portland home considering I own tow homes within the city limits. Doesn't make me feel like I need to hate on Seattle. I love Seattle just as much for some ofthe same and for different reasons.

No. And I don't doubt it.

So I took a month road trip zig zagging across the states on my move to NY in the spring of 2001.
Hit Chicago and stayed a couple nights downtown. Then made our way around the lake to start heading down towards Indianapolis(one of the cleanest cities i've ever seen)
As you crosas the boarder you can see in the horizon a small downtown area, but all the buildings look brownish. As we got closer it was because over 50% of the buildings had all the windows boarded up. I'm talking 30 story buildings. 6 ft tall weeds growing around them. It was as if I had entered 12 monkeys or something...
It was the most out of this world experience Ive ever had... sober...

Go Hawks fuckers. I love being a 12 and I don't understand what that has to do with anything. They've been using some variation of "12" since 1984 when they retired the number. I don't see how this turns us in to "6s" or whatever the fuck backwards logic is going on here. Fuck the Sounders though

If we're going to get territorial, why ignore Alaska, Canada, Hawaii and the rest of Washington state as well as Idaho, Montana and even some really northern Californians! There are those Terry Stotts Iowa fans to consider too! We've got a start in Oakland already.

The Space Trail Needles is a good name for a sports team. Is this inclusive enough?

Maybe rename the team the Needle Blazers and sign the 'Sheed, Damon and ZBo as team ambassadors.

Yep, back when it was the murder capital of the world (maybe it still is, wouldn't surprise me), I used to drive through it twice a day, five days a week. I still pass by on my way to and from MDW whenever I fly home to visit family and friends. What a depressing place. It's a shame, too. Back when the steel mills first popped on the south shore of Lake Michigan, Gary was where the rich executives lived. There were some beautiful old mansions in Gary that were basically abandoned ruins by the early 1960s. Never take prosperity for granted. It can vanish faster than you'd ever think possible.

6s......mount up!

I have never been able to understand the jump from "GO SEATTLE!" to "FUCK SEATTLE!"

I understand. My family moved from Vermont to Seattle when I was 1 y/o. My dad grew up in Seattle. He loved the Seahawks. He made me a Seahawks fan from birth. But he didn't like Basketball. We moved to Portland when I was 2 y/o (1977, yo!). I started liking basketball in elementary school and because my Dad never pushed the Sonics on me I naturally became a Blazer fan as my love of basketball increased. I'm a Timbers fan over a Sounders fan because I only started liking soccer like 4 years ago and it was a natural fit being that I've lived here for 38 years. Bought season tickets in Timbers Army their first two seasons in MLS.

I had a similar experience when attending a wedding in Toledo three years ago. We stayed at a beautiful 14,000 square foot restored Victorian mansion. We had a suite that was the entire top floor. Including breakfast, our room was $109/night. The place was drop dead gorgeous, but the area around it looked like a war zone. When I mentioned it to some of the locals at the wedding and said it's in kind of a bad part of town, they told me there is no good part of town, that it's all like that.

Oh, and it's never "fuck seattle" to me. I think Seattle is a wonderful city. I love it up there. I just don't like the Sounders or the Sonics (but I really miss the Sonics, as I think we all do at some level).

The residents are douches

That makes sense to me. But there are a lot of people who were born and raised in Portland, hate the Huskes, hated the Sonics, hate the Sounders....... but love the Seahawks.

I know, I know. It's remarkable. Most long time Seahawks fans really battle with the bandwagon thing. At first I thought it was kind of cool. The Hawks have never been legit popular. But it wore off quickly. You'd be surprised how many of them don't even know who Mike Holmgren is. That's my basic litmus test and it's a simple one considering he led us to a super bowl appearance in 2005. If you can't answer that, GTFO.

My grandparents were huge Seahawk fans. They lived up there. They bought me Seahawk stuff when I was little. I just never got on board. Not my thing.

No, you. Sorry for having a personal passion for the franchise and long term employees loved by most of the fanbase.

It seems like your mad at the franchise and stated that this may be the last straw for you.

Well u should make it easier for yourself and leave. Just trying to help.

Mike and Mike are gone. Vanished. No longer. Make a statement and prove your loyalty to them and leave.

I never stated it was any kind of last straw. Just massive disappointment in the organization
