Thanks. This is one way to put it to bed. Anyone can cherry pick comments from Facebook to make their case. It's like the the highlight reel that makes Joel Przybilla look like an offensive stud.

The dismissal of Mike and Mike, and the hiring of Calabro and whoever, are two separate things. Just want to point out that it's possible to be disappointed or even mad about the dismissal, and at the same time be glad with the new hire (so far).

Yep, I wish the Mike's well. I enjoyed them while they were here, but am excited to hear the new guy and eager to learn who his partner will be.

I don't mind Calabro, like I said, he's a good announcer. The Mikes were fired. It sucks but I'll still complain forever.

It appears this has been in the works for several years. It only manifested itself when Seattle couldn't get a stadium so the Blazers figured the area will not get an NBA franchise for a long time. There's loyalty and family for you, Portland Trailblazers, fire the Mikes so you can impress Seattle.

Mike Rice got old quick. He said the same thing over and over again. Great move. Have you thought this maybe a way to increase our popularity in Seattle, in turn making us a bigger market. which could help us land a big free agent that we all have been wanting for years.

Mike and Mike couldn't hold Calabro's jockstrap.. He is one of the Best in the game today.. He has more charactor and humor then both Mikes put together!!!

It actually doesn't matter how good Calabro is (he is good, I admit that), he was hired because he was well known and comfortable in Seattle and the Blazers could use him to have people in Seattle watch. Wasn't hired for his talent, he was hired because of the audience that will follow him.

Are you kidding me? Mike Rice was horrible. Just a notch above Bill Walton.

The comments were the ones sorted by the most "likes". Its the best indicator.

They also have butt hurt bias. Some people hold irrational grudges and won't accept the new guy no matter who he may be. If anything, this poll is too soon. Those who are grieving over losing the Mikes have not had time to heal.

Oh, I'm going to start bashing the organization every chance I get with a very anti-Seattle tone to my future posts.

You aint seen nothing yet. I invented the term "Imaginary Cap Space"

I thought that was Pritchard.

Oh wait, he's the one that created the imaginary cap space and the subsequent unfilled promise...

I tell you guys. It's just business that's all it is! The Blazers should be have a wide ranging, unobtrusive, appealing voive for ALL BLAZER fans. I mean, Jeez.... it's not like the Blazers have ever
ALIENATED the local community before.... it's not like Blazers will every have their IDENTITY taken apart from Portland. I mean it's not like their might be a BREAK DOWN in the business relationship..... Like I don't know..... the lease lapses and the team demands consessions the city can't afford. It's not like they might LEAVE in the middle of the night! Hell. When has that ever happened.

I can just see the 30 for 30, a couple decades from now.....

"S2..... The Board That Wouldn't Die: A town with out a team. A bunch of nerds refused to get up from their cell phones and lap tops and face reality.... the trails would always blaze in Portland."

(narrated by Patrick Duffy)

And to me, it doesn't get better than Mike and Mike.

Calabro's called the conference finals because he's without a team contract. The mikes are homeristic and Calabro has no stake in favoring a team so he's more objective.

If you asked Blazers fans if they'd rather have the Mikes or Calabro, the Mikes will win in a landslide.

El Prez, I don't think this is accurate and I think the "It's Calabro" thread proves this. Look at how many posters in that thread are okay with the change , when they were the same poster, like myself that was up in arms when the news broke about M&M being dismissed?

I think the majority of Blazers fans would rather have Calabro, as much as we loved M&M, we understand that if we want the best possible product from head to toe, you try to get the best person available in every position. From management on down to towel boy. Calabro was available, and it makes sense to get him.
