Like Rudy Gay and Hibbert. While those guys don't exactly blow anyone's skirt up, all of the top free agent small forwards are restricted it seems like, and outside of Tobias Harris I doubt any team would give them up even with an overpay. With us not being on DeAndre's list of teams, I'm not seeing a lot of free agent centers I'd rather start over Plumlee unless you think Gasol would come here. I was a big proponent of bringing in Monroe, but it sounds like he wouldn't fit next to LMA, and his defense is really bad.

I bet Gay and Hibbert could be had for almost nothing besides giving their respective teams immediate cap relief, and I think getting them would make LMA more likely to stay than signing Aminu and someone like David West.

If you did bring in a guy like Gay Aminu would be a good back up.

I agree. I could see us ending up with Rudy gay and hibbert.

I'd be ok with it.

I think Rudy gay gets a bad rep. He would give us another legit scorer who can go and get a bucket. In his older years I'd expect that he would enjoy winning. But what would Sacramento want in return?

Yeah, he's a 20 ppg scorer, how many free agents that we could realistically get can say that? Weren't the Kings pretty much ready to dump him for salary camp relief recently?

Rudy Gay is total fool's gold. Like Derozan, he is an inefficient volume shooter. Show me ANY advanced stats that like him. If we got him it would be a sign of both desperation and ignorance, and the last nail in the coffin of my Blazer interest until a front office shakeup. I still believe we're smarter than that.

Rudy Gay and Roy Hibbert.

*gag*

Might as well throw Josh Smith into that stellar group.

19.7 PER, .556 TS%, .122 ws/48 on a 29 win team

I really don't understand the Rudy Gay hatred. Honestly, he is what we needed Batum to be. A 3rd option scorer behind LMA and Lillard. If he accepts that role, I'm 100% for him.

Hibbert...15.5 mill is a lot for a guy that has played like he has as of late and he runs slower than molasses in an Alaskan winter.

The problem is that Rudy Gay thinks he is at worst the 2nd option on any NBA team. He is a chucker imo.

And protects shots at the rim at a 40.4% rate. Imagine when he plays on a team with 3 players that can score?!

Overpaid guy who chucks up a lot of contested and bad shots, pouts when doesnt get to shoot and tends to not care defensively. Gay shoots twice as much as Batum did and that was a great thing about Batum he didnt need shots to effect the game.
As a fan base we would always beg Batum to shoot, as a fan base we would beg Gay not to shoot.

Rudy Gay: 21ppg, 16FGA, 4ast, 46% FG, 36% 3pt, 8FTA per100

Lamarcus Aldridge: 23ppg, 20FGA, 2ast, 47% FG, 35% 3pt, 7FTA per100

Damian Lillard: 21ppg, 17FGA, 6ast, 43% FG, 34% 3pt, 7FTA per100

Rudy Gay is less of a "chucker" than our 2 allstars...

The need to dump Lee's deal combined with maxing out Draymond.

Interesting option.

Chucking is not the number of shots necessarily but the type of shots. Dame was a chucker last year for about a month. Crawford is a chucker and I don't think he shoots near as many shots per game as Gay.

Well the shot quality is only defined by FG%. If you pull up from half our but shoot 60% then your helping your team. If you're making 50% of what people deem "bad shots" but only make 40% of what people deem "good shots", then ultimately those consensus "bad shots" are actually good, and those "good shots" aren't.

Wonder what we could get from GS for absorbing David Lee's contract?
they should give us something for Lee's contract.. if we throw in a piece like Hendo we could get more. But how much would that get us?

Rudy gay averaged 21pts 6 Reb and 4 assists.

If we keep LMA and Wes, then I think Gay could work. I think he needs to be surrounded by Vets. I think if he sees his team as a potential contender, he will do what it takes to win. Just like most players. But if he is on a young team going no where , his "team basketball" skills might suffer.

So if we ended up getting Hibbert and Gay, while keeping Noah, dame, Leonard, CJ, Aldridge and Matthews. Would that be considered a trade that moves the needle?

You just can't stop with the Hibbert love, can you?

I'm trying to accept that Hibbert will be a Blazer. I have a feeling it's #1 on the list. So I use him, like he is part of the team. I would much rather have a better big, but I think Olshey is using the free agency to get someone different.
