Not to nok you, nobs...but there are clear delineations.

I think you are playing at semantics. Whatever word you like to use instead of religion for what you believe in - insert that in the argument everyplace you see 'religion'. The arguments don't change.

Well, you can certainly size things up how you'd like. Doesn't change things a bit for me, nor the life I live. Thanks anyway, though.

Wow, and I thought my post would be a life-changing moment for you. Maybe the next one.

I can safely say I've never had this argument before. Probably because it's ridiculous.

I've never read this book, but a quick Google search gives a basic synopsis.

Since the days of the early church, Christians have struggled to find a way to be "good"--to please God by their own efforts. They end up carrying a burden God never intended them to bear. And what's more, their brand of Christianity ends up looking like any other religion of the world--bound by joyless rules and rituals. Fritz Ridenour's study of the book of Romans provides an antidote to the pharisaical spirit and shows that Christianity is not a religion but a relationship. It is not people reaching up, but God reaching down. All Christians can enjoy their birthright when they realize who they are in Christ. The result is a life full of hope, joy, power, and potential.

Another. The list goes on...

Christianity is not a religion. Christianity is “Christ in us,” because Jesus Christ comes into us and dwells in us when we accept Him into our lives. And by Christianity, I mean, establishing a relationship with, and having fellowship with Jesus Christ --- that is, in case Christianity means other things to other people. Jesus Christ did not call His followers Christians nor did His apostles and disciples call themselves that. But in the world today, we are known as Christians and we are proud to be; and our faith in Christ is known as Christianity, because we believe in Jesus Christ. And by coming to Jesus Christ, we receive life. He said to the Pharisees, “You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.” (John 5:39-40). Christianity is LIFE, because Jesus Christ is Life and comes to live in us when we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. And He told us in the Bible “I come that you may have life, and have it more abundantly.” So when you come to Christ, you’ve come to LIFE. And you’ll have life more abundantly. How then did we get from life to religion? Just like the Israelites before us, we took the perfect gift of God and turned it into man-made activities, designed more to gain glory for ourselves than to give glory to God. No wonder the world is getting darker and darker. Religion is not about God. Religion is an attempt to imitate God.

This is hilarious. You and the authors clearly don't understand the concept of what a religion is.

What you’re posting is hilarious but you know what, fine. You use to be a "hedonist atheist" but now you’re a "Christian" and don’t seem to believe in evolution. So for all intents and purposes I think the gist of my post applies to you just as much as it does to some who at least is in touch enough with reality to admit they're religious when they are.

edit: Oh and you keep referencing the Bible... but clearly you're not religious.

But, I was talking to noknobs. If you can't see that I was playing off his/her name, then I hate it for ya.

I completely support this Christianity isn't a religion thing.

1000%!

So much so that they should give up their tax-exempt status.

Not a bad idea. I'm not a fan of organized or big religion, anyway. I'd just as well meet in a house....like the first church did in Acts 2.

hooked on phonics...refresher course at your local library....didn't know Jesus allowed you to hate things for me....learn something everyday

Feel free to read the link I posted.

The writer makes some points for sure. As mentioned, though, there are clear delineations between being religious and having a relationship with Christ. Jesus loved hanging around his buddies and warning them against the religiosity of the day.

Heh, you so funny.

Dang, they've got Alex running wire! Hope they don't need a license for that! LOL

Alex WIRE.jpg

ABM isn't a Christian, he just happens to have Christian beliefs, by accident.

uh...she/he's not running wiring there...he/she has a drill and is mounting vent hardware it looks like...there's no conduit in site where he's drilling.

Yep. He has been running some wire, though, according to Pericles.

Looks like some recessed lighting.

Pericles knows his stuff. He's (they're) even installing an indoor wood-burning pizza oven. They'll use it for other stuff as well. Most likely, tagine cooking and bbq.
