I think phat's point is, there is no need to have large rooms with 4 stalls and urinals. Just have individual bathrooms like coffee shops and gas stations and what not have.

For smaller venues that makes sense, but what about large venues like stadiums?

Hell..... I have been to music festivals where there's literally a large outhouse with a trough.

Probably a cost issue with large venues but they could still have a few of the any sex ones.

DeSantis’s press secretary says anyone who opposes Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill is a pedophile / LGBTQ Nation
In a recent tweet, the press secretary of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) implied that those who oppose the state’s anti-LGBTQ “Don’t Say Gay” bill are pedophiles.

“The bill that liberals inaccurately call ‘Don’t Say Gay’ would be more accurately described as an Anti-Grooming Bill,” wrote Christina Pushaw. “If you’re against the Anti-Grooming Bill, you are probably a groomer or at least you don’t denounce the grooming of 4-8 year old children. Silence is complicity. This is how it works, Democrats, and I didn’t make the rules.”

Related: Oklahoma is advancing a bill that would criminalize librarians over LGBTQ books

Pushaw’s comments are part of the age-old homophobic cannon that has long considered LGBTQ people dangerous to children, which is, apparently, why Pushaw feels the “Don’t Say Gay” bill is necessary.

The bill is officially known as the Parental Rights in Education Bill and says teachers cannot “encourage classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in primary grade levels or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students.” It also says parents can sue their children’s schools for failing to adhere to these rules.

The bill has passed the Florida House and is awaiting a final vote in the Senate.

Pushaw has since refused to take back her words and has doubled down on her beliefs as LGBTQ advocates lambasted her.

“#DeSantis’ spokesperson openly accused opponents of #DontSayGay of being ‘groomers’— aka PEDOPHILES,” tweeted out Florida Rep. Carlos Carlos Guillermo Smith (D) — who has been speaking out against the bill from the beginning. “Bigoted attacks like this against LGBTQ people are the worst of the worst. They’re disgusting and dangerous and have NO PLACE in the Guv’s office.”

Smith then called for Pushaw to resign.

Equality Florida released a statement emphasizing that Pushaw’s words confirmed what so many already knew: “that this bill is grounded in a belief that LGBTQ people, simply by existing, are a threat to children and must be erased.”

“[Gov. DeSantis] chose Pushaw to speak his mind to the public. He owns this unbridled hatred. This same bigoted insinuation has long been used to stigmatize our families, justify denying us the ability to adopt children, and is being used to justify the tracking of transgender children by government agents in Texas and threatens to imprison parents.”

The statement ended by accusing Gov. DeSantis of supporting “the erasure of LGBTQ people.”

Out state Rep. Michele Rayner (D) also took aim at Pushaw, tweeting that “this trope is tired and lacks originality.”

“It’s clear you don’t like LGBTQ people – just say that,” Rayner continued. “But no matter how you feel – we are here. We’ve been here. And we aren’t going anywhere.”

So, if you were the parent of, say, a 10-year-old and they came to you and said they wanted a sex change, how would you respond?

Sex change is not appropriate term.

Either way, how would you handle the situation?

Month after month and no attempt to understand. Support anti trans laws in states. It's clear to me you consider trans people freaks for your amusement or hellbound sinners who need to pray themselves cis and straight. And possibly gay, lesbian, bi and gender nonconforming and nonbinary as well.
As I have said, no reason to engage with you.
My response to my hypothetical trans child would be between me and said child. I would not ask your or the Republican Party's opinion.

This is absolutely insane.

one poster asks another poster how they would handle a situation. Question is sidestepped and the focus of the other poster is on semantics. Original posters brushes the semantics off and ask other poster how they would handle the situation.

Other poster again avoids the question and then lays into the first poster how they don't try to understand!

The first poster was literally asking questions to better understand!

Are we seriously this lost?

i mean what in the literal fuck???? Lmao!!!

cracks me up how some people are… lol.

you complain about not being able to ask questions on other topics. But then want to deny others a conversation about trans operations and abortions.
Its like you can discuss whatever you want but we all better not discuss anything crand doesn't want us too!!!!

your posts are filled with jade red.

I'm pretty much through with @crandc and @SlyPokerDog on the subject. They both have their collective opinions of me and have opted for an offense strategy.

Thank you for pointing these things out, brother. Pretty bizarro for sure.

nobody else will because they would rather defend like minded political minds then actually stand up for what is right Nd wrong.

The biggest wrong of all and what almost always turns people aggressive is to deny another person the right to discuss a topic.

Its only natural to want to fight back with fists if someone is going to tape my mouth shut.

I can and have given ABM the long thoughtout response he claims to want and it goes nowhere. There is no meaningful discussion. It's really a waste of time.

His scenario is purposely vague.

In this thread I posted articles about something similar, including a fascinating one where an infant's penis was destroyed in an accident so they surgically made him a girl. But even as a little kid they knew they weren't. Played with "traditional" boys toys. Didn't like wearing dresses, etc.

So, if the hypothetical boy in ABM's scenario just suddenly says they want to be a girl I would not put a lot of weight to it, I would still discuss it with them, but if there were no other signs, there isn't a lot, IMO, to do.

No, if the boy likes wearing girl's clothes, playing with girl's toys, then it's time for the parents to talk with a professional, and then talk with the kid.

But again, I've suggested just talking with a person, whether they are black, or gay, or trans, or whatever, just talking with them open and honestly and ABM in other threads and other subjects rejects that. So really, there isn't much to discuss with him on this.

but you are another male. I don't presume to answer for him, but me personally would put alot more depth into what she says than what you say. Its her who is so outspoken about all the hatred Nd suppression she or people like her receive so to me, it would be her input i want. Not yours.
With thst said. I have not had that same long history but have also been quickly cut off from being able to discuss certain topics just because im a male. I have also been unjustly labeled a misogynist and told to fuck off for just wanting to have a conversation. But have also witnessed Crandc complain Bout how she was railed on for just asking questions.
There is a hypocrisy here and its bright as day if one just puts on some impartial glasses.

so there may be some history im unaware of but, history is just history. And your conversation goings with ABM doesn't mean they are the same with others as for reasons i eluded to above.

Bullcrap. I've been effectively called a gay and trans hater on posts that you have liked. I've simply asked that you, or anyone else for that matter, cite any post(s) I've made in that regard and I'd address each and every one. Frankly, there are none.

@ABM

I know I have tried to have conversations with you and we have had some and we have come to understandings even if we disagree. But, often you have been vague in your responses. You have the tendency to quote a single line from a post and offer a dubious reply that doesn't really offer any tangible feedback or further the conversation...it becomes dead ended.

People are only going attempt to have a conversation so many times before they conclude that one is not desired.

It's one thing to have a conversation. Even a so-called vague one, Chris. It's yet another thing altogether to be labeled a racist and a gay/trans hater. You're a smart guy. You know that.

There has to be a mens & womens restroom. They need their privacy and men need theirs. Many places have separate/additional rooms already just need more.
I don't know about you, but I don't need my privacy although at times it would be nice. When I was working out in a gym, there were no women on weekends so fathers would bring their 10, 11 and 12 year old daughters in the men's locker room to shower. I felt very sorry f0r the girls because they obviously did not like showering naked with me. To me, that was terrible and if they had just waited I would have been out of there and they could have have had the lockerroom, shower and all completely to themselves and nobody would have been uncomfortable.

Idaho now considering a bill that would imprison doctors who provide health care to transgender youth. Also a bill that would jail librarians if library contains books on LGBTQ issues written for young people.
Patrick Robertson, who blamed the 9/11 attacks on gays and legal abortion, came out of retirement to praise Russian invasion of Ukraine because Russia is a godly nation that persecutes gay and trans and gender nonconforming people.

Not baiting in any matter whatsoever. These are things that appear to be relative in today's society. Let me ask a different way: What if you had, say, a third grade daughter and she came home from school one day and told you that her teacher had been discussing various aspects of transgenderism, which caused her to really question who she was. Then, she goes on to tell you, "Mommy, I think I'm a little boy trapped in a little girl's body." What is the appropriate parental discussion around all of that? Moreover, is it any of the school's business to be involved in these matters at that age?

Yup. It is a slippery slope from religious fanatics to fascism.

Can you imagine what kind of a monster you have to be to take your young ones to church where they can associate with people of that nature? What kind of parents will do that? We should pass a law to keep religious zealots out of shared toilets.

I came from a family that did not hesitate to answer tough questions and never forbade knowledge. It is entirely possible to talk about trans issues in age appropriate fashion. As I said earlier, I was well aware by age 7 I was a girl and others like my father were not girls. Trans people have same awareness. Not the same as chafing about gender roles or the fact that girls often think boys have it easier while boys sometimes think girls do.
States like Florida and copycats are making these conversations a crime.

Maybe if you become more willing to have conversations, and not be so passive in that respect, you might find some of those labels fall away.

When you are against certain things, when you support certain people there are labels that come with that.

Hmmm..I thought in Florida they're just wanting these types of discussions left out of the schools pre thru 3rd grade as to totally be left in the hands of the parents?

Try to keep up. :)

Despite the various (incredibly wrong) labels against me, I had begun asking more questions. They're all legitimate ones in my estimation.

Trying to pretend LGBTQ people don't exist, will not stop them from existing.

Though, being called a racist, gay and/or trans hater is way over the top. And, quite frankly, ugly. As a moderator, you of all people should know that. I've said NOTHING that would warrant those ugly labels. Nothing.

I keep up just fine.

You don't offer a clear idea of where you stand on LGBTQ. You offer vague links to controversial articles that lead people to build their own picture.

You say your religion tells you that you have to see being gay or queer as wrong, but are not for laws against it, but then are for some of the laws, but aren't, but are for the politicians who are for the laws, but aren't, but are.

This is some of the vagueness I'm talking about. Don't be obscure.

Clarify your stance man.
