This is the second time he has let us completely collapse in the second half of the season. We have won 2 of our last 7. One was a squeaker past the Knicks and the other was a home squeaker by a Timberwolves team playing without their three best scorers. This is an epic choke job. IF we make the playoffs, we will get swept when we get there. If Grizzlies get hot, we could miss playoffs. Not trolling, not MIXUMing. Just telling the truth.

You know who else said he was telling the truth?

Mixum.

Re: Fire Stotts

MM was right. He said that by the All Star break, we would have an injured big and that we would be an average team. He was right. Unbelievable foresight.

Umm, technically, we're after the all star break... so....

And have three injured bigs. Four if mags counts as a big.

The only one hurt before the break was Freeland. So...

Re: Fire Stotts

I don't buy any of this. Stotts is a great coach. This was a winable game. Missed freethrows would've won it tonight if we could have made them. Bricked layups...etc.. We have 3 bigs out and lose by 3 pts....no need to panic here.

I think I might skip Friday's game.

I haven't missed a game all year but I really don't think I can handle a loss to Utah. If we win, I'll be happy so that will make up for missing it. If we lose, I'll be glad to have missed it.

Thanks for sharing.

Do you ever not overreact to losses?

The dude has LA's full endorsement, he ain't going anywhere.

Well, how far are you going to get with poor defense and a crap bench? Robin Lopez is the Blazers only inside game, because LA wants to shoot those stupid jumpers. I don't think we missed him at all tonight.

I almost never do. I didn't get overly upset about a loss until the loss at home to OKC. It became clear that the season was taking a bad turn. Then we lose to Clips. Then to Spurs without their stars. When we were a top 3 team, I never got very upset about a loss. I was the optimistic one when people were panicking that we were only 12-10 since 24-5. I was the one saying it was just a slump. Not a bad slump at all. But it is now clear that it is worse than that. It's a very bad trend. Suns are only 3.5 games behind us. And it feels like last year. I'm reacting to the trend that is not being reversed.

Re: Kingspeed is not happy with the team right now.

If we continue with no defense, Stotts will be gone in under 12 months. But Olshey may add defensive coaches and players before then. So we shall see what we shall see about Stotts.

Re: Kingspeed is not happy with the team right now.

I don't think Stotts job is in too much jepardy. You look at where the team was when he took over vs what it is now. Between all of the basketball minds on the Blazers coaching staff, can none of them come up with a good defensive scheme for these guys? I think it's more likely the players themselves. Lillard, Batum, and Matthews just don't play defense very well....and the bench is a joke.

There was an article about the Blazers D a few weeks ago talking about how the scheme is one that takes a few years to learn and the players are just having a hard time getting adjusted to it. I guess its hard to figure out exactly what the scheme really is when you walk into Stotts office to see a board tittled "Defense" with 10 dots on it and all it says is "outscore the opposing five".

Re: Kingspeed is not happy with the team right now.

"Contenders"

Re: Kingspeed is not happy with the team right now.

A scheme that takes years to learn?? Maybe they need a scheme that they can play NOW. That sounds kind of ridiculous.

Hahahaha - we didn't miss the player that has owned San Antonio for years? He kills them when they HAVE Duncan. Tonight LA would've feasted against Diaw.

Yea the article was pretty stupid, but honestly I just skimmed it because it seemed far fetched and a way to provide and excuse for the Blazers D. It does seem like we dont' really have bad defensive players, aside from Lillard, so something is wrong with how our players are told to defend.
