This team has been way better than I thought they'd be to this point.

That being said, my cautious realism was probably closer then some of the extreme homerism. Unless they COMPLETELY collapse, this team will win way more games than I thought it would.

I suppose. And I'll admit your brand of incorrect was closer than my brand of incorrect to the truth (though my initial predictions weren't too bad; I just got swept up in the moment).

When I feel like I do now, I think that Portland won't win another game against an opponent above .500... Something nobody is talking about; we haven't beaten one since mid January (iirc).

So the team got off to a much better start than anyone anywhere anticipated. They have come back to earth and playing much more where people expected and suddenly it's a coching firing worth disaster? I suspect Olshey had a road map of his plan and is going to stick to it instead of getting overly excited about a better than expected start of a season.

This is the second time he has let us completely collapse in the second half of the season. W e have won 2 of our last 7. One was a squeaker past the Knicks and the other was a home squeaker by a Timberwolves team playing without their three best scorers. This is an epic choke job. IF we make the playoffs, we will get swept when we get there. If Grizzlies get hot, we could miss playoffs. Not trolling, not MIXUMing. Just telling the truth.

I don't buy any of this. Stotts is a great coach. This was a winable game. Missed freethrows would've won it tonight if we could have made them. Bricked layups...etc.. We have 3 bigs out and lose by 3 pts....no need to panic here.

They also did not play Duncan or Parker so not the only ones missing people.

The difference between the 31-9 team at that point of the season and now, is that they cant finish games. the Blazers this season are not able to impose their will on teams and are almost always in close games for 4 quarters, thus when the breaks go the other way they lose the close games. During that 31-9 stretch we won plenty of games that could've gone the other way we kind of had a mojo and won most, now games that we were winning earlier are being lost in the last minutes.

Really this team can beat anyone, but can lose to anyone also, close games dictate that, they just didn't lose those very often.
