For the record, Trump called the Georgia Secretary of State, not the former Steelers quarterback. Trump's very best lawyer confused the two.

senate voted to allow witnesses..5 republicans voted for it...not sure what you're saying here...Pence will be called to the stand as will probably McCarthy, Cruz and other complicit assholes

They compromised and agreed to not call witnesses even after they had the votes . spineless
 
I don't understand dropping witnesses either. I am sure House managers will be asked to explain.
McConnell just told Republicans he will acquit. Trump could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and Republicans would say prosecution is so unfair.

It's simple...there were witnesses to the calls between Trump and McCarthy as well as communications with Pence...under oath they can't say...whataboutisms........they must admit Trump stalled when it came to helping them out...they also need to come clean about what the GOP jurors met with Trump about after the first hearings....that's against the law period. This insurrection is one of the most serious breaches of democracy in my lifetime...we all saw it...there's no more sweeping shit under the rug for the GOP just to hang onto Trump's voting base...fuck that

But then why are dems going along with no witness's? To me witness's are key to any trial? Do they think its a waist of time?

I can't comment because I haven't seen the article...just the tweet posted here.....my info says witnesses have been approved....only Ted Cruz was complaining about them an hour ago and he should...he's in trouble if he's called to the stand
 
Just found the article....the reason they backed off witnesses is to expediate the covid relief bill and also give the Senate a vacation next week and Valentines day off. It seems that witnesses would drag the trial out for a long stretch and distract from cabinet appointments and covid relief funding.....the shame here is that the GOP did not stand up for or vote for the truth ...they only voted for Trump's political real estate.Trump should be put on the witness stand immediately

To me the dems have the control but don't want to use? If they dont demand witness's its their own fault if he's acquitted. Nobody else's, as the wayI see it with witness's it would turn republicans and they would vote to convict.
