Who is the best free agent Portland has ever successfully landed? Brian Grant?

Without Dave Twardzik's energy, no Championship in our history.

Without Danny Ainge's versatility, the 90's would have been less exciting.

Without Ruben Patterson's defense, we probably would have broken the most losses record.

I think those three actually had the biggest impact. We've had some other nice free agent talents that backfired due to egos, too much talent ahead of them, or not enough talent to support them.

Ruben Patterson is definitely underrated on the court due to being batshit crazy and his issues off the court sure didn't help (like the whole nanny episode). The guy was going 110% on the court at all times though. Quite the worker.

Wiggins is going to force his way to Portland, ala Kobe when he was drafted by Charlotte.

has that happened since Kobe did that?

er, I mean Kobe "did" that?

Steve Francis is the only guy that I know of who successfully did it since Kobe.

Yi wasn't happy about being drafted by Milwaukee, but he couldn't force his way out. I also think Rubio was pissed about being drafted by Minny, but he's still there, so....
