Depends on how much money, eh?

In all situations, these things are a negotiation.

The guy is a talk show host, and not a famous one. Maybe his daddy was rich, I don't know, but it seems more likely that he is on the staff because of his contribution of time and effort rather than money. Just my guess.

i just think that it's funny how whoever the most recent person to say something dumb(or that can be portrayed that way) is then suddenly proclaimed as the leader of the republican party by people on the left. first glenn beck, then this guy, then rush limbaugh(though this time he didn't even say anything dumb, just sarcastic).

Nobody claimed this guy was the leader of the Republican party, unless you are saying that republicans=teabaggers.

i know, but it still fits in with what i'm saying. someone says something dumb that is any position of remote power or influence and suddenly the left starts hyping him as someone of importance to the republican party.

and of course, i've seen people trying to equate the two groups.

Given the cacophony of signs, agendas and the general lack of a coherent message, I think it's safe to say this "Tea Party" or "9/12" movement has a weak leadership structure if any at all. It's about as grass roots as you're going to get.

Do the various summer festivals in waterfront park (Bite, Brewfest, etc) have a weak leadership structure if any at all?

There is a definite structure here, it is just that the structure is a "big tent" of protest movements. If you've got something to protest, you can pay your $10K and your organization can join in.

It's not any different than renting booth space at the festival. You may be selling elephant ears and the booth next to you may be selling corndogs, but the overall event is nevertheless organized.

So, everyone that attended the Rose Festival had the same agenda? That's a curious conclusion.

That certainly wasn't my conclusion, but I agree that would be a curious conclusion.
