Is this a hate crime? Part 2

The 4th amendment is pretty clear:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
I know, that is why when SWAT bangs in your door in the middle of the night over a child support warrant or some other bullshit it makes me furious.

He's a good driver this is true. This could certainly be the case. But when he drives his 69 Pontiac Lemans in the same area (Oregon City) this is not the case.
Yeah but is it ugly and lifted on giant wheels? All of those cars violate bumper height laws in Nevada. They should be impounded, but so should the tinydick's lifted 4 wheelers.

If the cops used that law against the donks but left the rednecks alone that would piss me off.

If you'd ever seen the damage a lifted truck can do to a Corolla when the front bumper of the truck clears the entire trunk lid and smashes into the back window you would understand.

In the real world this is the law. We simply needs to hold our LEOs accountable. They work for us.
Amen. I'll say it again, very few people who want to be cops should be allowed to bring you . Most cops are the type of people that notice that the girl at the drive through gave them 5 dollars too much and don't say anything.

Reminds me of the Ron White joke about cops stopping cars driving on the sidewalk after the bars let out. "That's profilin' and profilin' is wrong"
or I don't want to be drunk in public, they kicked me out of the bar, go harrass them because I didn't want to leave

It's not. It's restored and stock. It's pretty fucking awesome actually. If the vehicle is street legal, there is no reason to pull them over and ask them idiotic, irrelevant questions like "where are you headed?" and "where are you coming from?".

There is no question we need to upgrade police training and attract talent to the profession. It should be difficult to become a policeman, and it's not. Being a peace keeper should outweigh all other police priorities. Being a public servant should not give cops a license to harrass people that are not being aggressively dangerous to public safety

One of my favorite cars ever made.

Those do stick out like a sore thumb these days so I'll give the cops a 2 percent chance they didn't pull him over for being black. They probably liked the car and would have asked a white guy what engine it had but found a black guy driving a stock A body and figured it was stolen.

Who the fuck knows what someone is thinking?

DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING!!!!!

You don't know anything about how my day goes. Take it from me. Now, I know how to act. I'm clean cut and speak with my ers and ings. People who may not know how to present themselves are killed. I know when I'm pulled over to keep my hands on the wheel and narrate my every move. Travonn happened because he was a Black kid with a hoodie in an area where we are assumed not to have access to. That's why he had contact with the murderer in the first place. Had he not been Black with a hoodie on, he wouldn't have been chased. The question remains: When was he able to stand his ground after being chased?

You're right about me not knowing about how your day goes. But I think it's fair to say that you in turn have know idea what the people you come in contact are thinking. When I am pulled over I do the same thing. I do that because as a dumbass youth I was pulled over and had an attitude. I did nothing illegal, but was asked to get out of the car and handcuffs were placed on and guns were drawn.

Truth. My problem is the irrelevant line of questioning. Where I'm going and what I'm up to is none of your damn business.

I say ALL of this with the understanding that I've had plenty of good interactions with police once they understand I'm no threat. The main thing is why I was pulled over in the first place.

Stop being a profiling denier. I don't need that side of the argument. I JUST posted the stop and frisk numbers. Read them and gain perspective. Try having some empathy instead of looking for a way to ignore what we deal with.

The cops act like being pulled over or even being arrested is no big deal. I read car magazines and letters about cops pulling people over because and only because they like the hot rod the guy is driving.

Who the fuck do they think they are?

My personal belief is that LEOs should make MUCH more money. To get that money they need WAY more than the 21 week average of police academy (in OR it's 10 FUCKING weeks....). IMHO they should at least have an Bachelors (yup disagree if you want but why not?). They need to have Psyche evaluations and should have to pass sociology, psychology, criminology, courses. There should be a Bachelors Degree SPECIFICALLY for LEOs. Then pay them +80K so they won't want to lose that money they worked so hard to get.

cops need to get rid of the quota they have for citations..it's like a demerit if you don't fill your quota over a period of time.

I make that much fixing cars. My job is dangerous to a degree but not like a police officer. I work with dangerous chemicals and machines that could kill me. Very unlikely the machines will, the chemicals are worse.

Speaking of which, I gotta get back to it. First slow day in months and months. I still have stuff to do but I'm not in a rush.

I don't deny some black people deal with things. I also think it's short sighted of you to tjink some white people don't deal with things also.

I'm not a profiling denier (is that a word) at all. I just think it goes both ways. To the extent? No, but it's there.

If I see a group of young black kids wearing red bandanas, walking towards me on a street late at night I get nervous. Just as you probably would if a group of white kids with shaved heads and combat boots were walking towards you.

60% of prisoners are black...I think. Is it unfair to be wary in cettain situations?

Watched the whole thing. Video was careful not to reveal what she did but at 13 secs you see a man in a wheelchair and either a person or a lot of belongings on the ground beside him.

It's clear they are holding her until the police arrive and she's an adult, not a "little girl", as it takes 3 men to barely control her. She bites the guy's arm and he hits her until she releases his arm. She appears to be unharmed. Hopefully, the bites didn't infect the man

Having quite a lot of personal experience in apprehending shoplifters and holding them for the police, I'd say these guys risked their lives to apprehend a criminal and handled the chore humanely and appropriately. They could have been shot or stabbed for their heroism.

If you're looking for a hate crime here it's that she committed a crime against a white person.

I sat in on a town forum regarding this subject. I ABSOLUTELY agree with you, but it does raise money to help pay for shit. How do you replace that? Higher fines?

While I agree that Leos should have college degrees and psyche tests, I feel sympathy for them for all the shit they have to deal with. Plenty of them are risking their lives day in and out to keep people safe, and all they hear about anymore is how much people hate them. People constantly are disrespecting them and treating them like shit. Hearing that repeatedly is going to affect basically anyone.

People haven't liked the cops ("pigs") since at least the 1960s. I don't think the british cops were well liked before we were a country, either.

In the small rural community I live in, the cops are great..they have an officer in the public library once a week to talk with locals about their concerns, they know all the locals and have had a huge impact on crime decreasing..never seen them angry of even reach for a gun. I'm lucky here I guess.

I don't think cops were liked since the Prohibition era

You make the fines based upon income. The more you make the more you pay.

How do you deter the millionaire from speeding with a $250 ticket?
