That's not what your "taxed like a mother" to pay. You're taxed like a mother to pay for War, and unwarranted subsidies.
You mean like welfare? There is more allocated to that than the military

Did you just pull that one outta your ass?

Speaking of that graph. Do you see anything wrong with it?

Hell yes. The amount we spend on "defense" is much more than China (and the next 4 countries combined) who has a MUCH larger military than we do. I also HATE that we spend so little on education. We also spend too much on healthcare. Almost double per person compared to the the next country down.

The defense spending is too much if you apply it to defending our country. The major problem with that spending has more to do with policing other countries, which I'm totally against. Let those other countries fend for themselves!

Education and transportation stands out most to me. Also, healthcare is ridiculously high

If we had Canada's system we would spend approximately half. Cue Denny!

Anything government subsidizes is more expensive than it should be.

If you know government will write a check to cover education, health care, etc., you jack up the price and soak the government for it.

Get government out of it.

Tuition at the UofI where I went has gone up by 30x in 30 years. And that's a state school. Not coincidentally, massive increases in grants, student loans, etc.

And that's just how it's working in Canada, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Germany, and you know all those other countries that value getting EVERYONE an education? You talk about spending but the benefits we reaped in tax revenue from people with jobs with advanced degrees would offset that cost IMO.

The 4th amendment is pretty clear:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Historic document. RICO laws (and its gradual extension to individuals outside of organized crime) and the Patriot Act pretty much turned that bit of the constitution into toilet paper ages ago.

Yeah right...

And it's not a hate crime IMO because there is no clear indication of why the girl is being treated with such force. She did steal a purse. Now if he were shouting racial slurs while this was happening it would be way different. It's a crime but not a clear indication of a hate crime.
i still think "hate crime" is fucking orwellian double speak. of course it was hateful, it was a fucking violent crime. dont you have to hate someone to slam their head in the concrete? if i punch a white girl in the face is it a love crime? giggity

Defining a Hate Crime

A hate crime is a traditional offense like murder, arson, or vandalism with an added element of bias. For the purposes of collecting statistics, Congress has defined a hate crime as a “criminal offense against a person or property motivated in whole or in part by an offender’s bias against a race, religion, disability, ethnic origin or sexual orientation.” Hate itself is not a crime—and the FBI is mindful of protecting freedom of speech and other civil liberties.

so if a black person hits a white person is it hate crime if it's racially motivated?

wouldnt a simple compromise for conservatives and liberals be to cut defense, welfare, and healthcare all at the same time?

They should be paid way more. Including Hazard Pay. They deserve it. An LEO who's paid more would be less able to corrupt as a well.

I would argue that the higher earners in corporations and government are more likely to be involved in corruption than those in the lower levels. It's not money (or a lack thereof) that generally leads to corruption; it's power, and the opportunity to abuse it. IMO, the biggest enabler of police corruption is the unchecked power granted to even the lowest-level rookies on the police force.

Would be nice... I think that's why I want the career politicians out. They have their heads so far up people's ass, they can't ever make a decision on their own.

Because NO country has cut their way to prosperity.

Did you think that me being in favor of cutting expenses meant that I wanted to cut revenue as well?
