And to the folks thinking this is one more step closer for a move to Seattle, you guys are hilarious. That is silly. Portland packs its stadium, is becoming a hotbed for expensive real estate, and is projected to grow tremendously. Last I read 250,000 people are expected to move here by 2035. Even when the fear was there, it was simply leverage to get the city to pay for a stadium and not a real threat.

Again this is a great hire for a great future coming up

I suspect, but obviously don't know, that one of the conditions for early termination by the team was the waiving of any non-compete clause. Both Barrett and Rice have tweeted about potential future employment options. I don't think they'd be actively lobbying for work the day they were canned if they knew they couldn't work in their chosen field for a year.
