Like, I want to trade cj, but not for a more ball hogging cj. We saw cj doesn't work with dame... why would a more cj player then work with dame?

So, ill do what harden never does, and pass.
 
I've said it before....Portland is not a place where you get rewarded for flopping...we don't buy refs period or get calls

What if it gets postponed and harden is like "nah, im good here" and strike a trade over steak bites at the acrop?

When has he had better players around him than Dame and the supporting cast that would remain if the outgoing pieces were CJ, Zach and Trent? Back when he was a 6th man in OKC?
 
Guys, this has no chance in hell of happening, so you're just risking upsetting our actual players if some nerd like HCP showed them your posts.

While Harden does take a lot of shots, he is a great facilitator and passes way more than CJ. He has averaged 8 assists per game the last 6 seasons with 11 assists per game in 16-17.
 
I'm still not really sold on this idea but I'm trying to work through it in my head. If we put Harden at basically the point guard how much effectiveness does Dame lose playing off the ball? Or if we keep Nurk does it still make sense to run the offense through Nurk and make teams choose between Dame or Harden? That seems to make more sense but it would probably never work out that way.

They all have agents that are way ahead of the S2 rumor mill to give them a heads up....
 
Yea Harden shoot a lot try like CJ but both bad defenders but I would give Harden the better then too. Harden also a better passer then CJ. Plus teams would not be able double both him and Dame. I would give up CJ and Trent and maybe Kanter I wouldn't give Zach due he just better defender then Kanter and maybe one or 2 1st rounds pick protected.
 
well......I'm going to throw this out there.....Portland is becoming a free agent destination finally! Thank you Melo for breaking that curse!

Thats fair. I just don't believe he's a winning basketball player. Much like westbrook.

I think trading for Harden is absolutely and abysmal idea. JMO.
 
On the offensive end, you would be getting an astronomically better player than CJ. On the defensive end, you would be getting an equal if not better player than CJ.

Imagine all the open looks Harden would generate for Dame (and vice-versa). Teams wouldn’t be able to trap Dame when he crosses the half court line anymore.

Our defense would still be a shit show but at least the offense would be more fun to watch.
 
If Harden did not like sharing the spotlight with CP3 and Westbrook. He is going to hate the love Dame gets here.

Well, if it helps get a stadium built in Houston, so long as we are first in line to get an expansion player, it will be good in the long run. Just needs to resolve quickly. (Wait, what do you mean this isn't MLB for PDX related, it is clearly leveraging Portland for other franchises...)

Playing Dame off the ball would negate his one glaring weakness, as alluded to by @OneSport3 : being unable to handle traps. Even if he doesn't want to run around as much as CJ does in that role, imagine him standing outside the 3-pt line, with Harden drawing multiple defenders, and how much that would stretch defenses.

The only way Harden would work well on Dame's team, is for him to come off of the bench to run the second unit.

Replacing Melo with Harden would be an upgrade.
