Generally speaking, investigations and trials don't happen overnight. Normally you want to gather as much information as possible, instead of rushing something out there, and not getting all of the information.

Because this is unprecedented. No president has ever attempted such illegal and anti-Anerican activities. They need to get the investigation right, with as much detail and evidence as possible, to put a verdict beyond a shadow of a doubt. They are also STILL unraveling just how far spread this conspiracy had spread throughout the various mechanisms and departments within the government and private sector. This is THE biggest investigation in US history. It doesn't happen overnight.

That's what the Justice Department will do. This is just a committee doing fact-finding and making a report. It's neither been fast nor slow. It's government.

But I bet you this: In the end, the whole point, the whole sub-text, is to give the Justice Dept enough to indict and convict him. The plan is to get a felony conviction against him before he can become president again because then he could never become president again.

That is what I think the unsaid endgame is.

Well, being a felon doesn't bar you from becoming president. If the voters are stupid enough to vote you in, you could probably even be president while in prison.

Section 3 of the 14th Amendment sets out the procedure. It provides that “no person” shall hold federal office who, “having previously taken an oath” as a federal officer “to support the Constitution of the United States,” has “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same.”

The reality is, if Republicans actually want to win they should support this. Or Trump will drag the whole party further than he already has. He will run as a 3rd party candidate, removing any chance of DeSantis (or any other republican) winning.

And I feel like there will be another republican who runs as a 3rd party to prevent Trump as well. If Trump isn't properly dealt with I think the Republicans are cooked.
 
Trump will call his new party Truth Social.....meaning whatever he writes on social media should be taken as the truth.

Jesus fucking Christ you people, they aren't dumb. They aren't playing dumb. They're saying this shit on purpose. I think it can be both. MTG tho, she's a fucking moron. People like Trump, McConnel, Lindsay Graham (etc) say shit on purpose. Fucking morons like MTG and Lauren Boebert are useful idiots.

Both of them are dumber than a bucket of twice warmed over vomit. They're grifters too.

Dumb people often have a massive fan base. Pop culture is filled with it. Politics used to keep those folks in the closet until Trump...now they're given megaphones. Marjorie Taylor Greene is Sarah Palin stupid...not fooled at all by her Trumpian bluster...Trump isn't very bright either but he has some real weasels in his corner cheering him on who should know better. Sure they've weaponized lies...just like Hitler did.
