Jimmy Butler wants out? (He does.)

That will quickly change as the season gets closer.

Yeah. Admitting you’re trading someone, or openly seeking, doesn’t exactly help obtain top value. See: Kylie Irving trade. Butler has already hurt his value by seeking a trade.

I just have never been a fan of his. Don't think he is a #1 player on a team. Definitely a fantastic #2. But he seems to bump heads with ALOT of teammates wherever he goes.

My mother who lives with me and I take care of has dementia.

I just rushed her to the hospital three days ago.

I'll say whatever the fuck I want cat.
Sorry for your mother. It definitely is hard when you have to care for someone with any range of disabilities.

Doesnt make it ok to make that assumption about someone else.

Cleveland got crucified for appeasing Kyrie's demands and giving him up for what turned out to be very little value. Granted he had a year longer on his deal at the time than Butler, but there are a lot of parallels.

If I were Minny, I'd try like hell to keep him. That 190 mil deal will help in this regard in 10 months.

One major difference - KAT has said he will not sign his extension with Butler on the team.

So who would you choose to keep happy - Butler or KAT?

I think the Kyrie trade is still dependent on how good Collin Sexton will be despite how crappy the rest of it turned out being. That pick had tremendous value before the season started and still had decent value at the trade deadline. If Sexton doesn't become a star then their biggest mistake would be to not have traded the pick instead of the actual Kyrie trade.

Zach Lowe goes through several possible trade scenarios for Butler. Basically says the Blazers don't get in the door without offering CJ.

A few folks have floated the notion of Portland trading CJ McCollum for Butler and filler. I don't mind it, even if there's next-to-zero chance Butler would give any assurances about staying in Portland. It almost works like the Kawhi Leonard trade in Toronto: If Butler bolts, you trade Damian Lillard and rebuild.

Portland's track record suggests they would like to add Butler to the Lillard/McCollum duo for one all-in run, but no such deal appears to exist.

I would counter that Turner/Aminu/Collins for Butler/Dieng saves Minny a lot of money, gives them a good young prospect that pairs nicely with KAT, and gives them 3 excellent defensive players to help Thibs not suffer too badly in the deal. But I'm not a national NBA writer, so what do I know?

I'd say that's pretty much spot on. Are you Butler-maniacs all-in on him enough that you'd be willing to chance trading Dame and beginning a total rebuild if he bolts after one year?

I'm having a nice conversation with @Boob-No-More anyone can join.
But this comment you made is not a way to join.

Maybe I don't enjoy
And am in fact repulsed
By stumbling into
Reading stanza-like posts
With psuedo-expert takes
That invariably lead to micromanaging
Any concrete statements from others
Yet provide nothing of substance
Themselves.

I and anyone should be entitled to say whatever they want. What.Ever.

Dude if you need a hug you need to ask someone else. I'm not going to hug you.
Sorry you're having a bad day, but I'm not going to get baited by you.

You are entitled to say whatever you want. I even said that in my reply to you.
However you're making a lot of assumptions for no reason.
Adding nothing of context.
Now we're totally off topic because of you
Whatever, there is an ignore feature on this site for a reason.

I wasn't making an assumption, I was joking.

Now just stop with your come to Jesus moment.

When was the last time a guy rejected a max extension to go into UFA?

If we trade Collins for a malcontent who bolts after a year, I'm gonna be pissed.

so it looks like the wolves want to dump dieng with Butler. Minnesota would be really thin up front, so they’d presumably want a big in return. I don’t see how we’d be an option unless we offered up Collins.

I don’t want to lose Collins, but we’re talking about an all nba caliber player here. We’re gonna have to give up something, and I think Neil would move Zach before CJ. Dieng isnt a bad player, but it would mean that someone like Layman, Biggie, or even an Oliver would have to be ready for minutes. Maybe even pick up a McCullough.

Dame
CJ
Butler
Aminu
Nurkic

Baldwin
Curry
Trent
Layman/Biggie/Oliver/etc
Dieng

That starting 5 is fire.

Joking about disabilities is not funny.

It's not a come to jesus moment as I am not religious.

Making fun of a disability to someone can cause others who see your joke or hear it feel bad about themselves. So it's best just not to joke about that kind of stuff.

Again: I don't need to be managed. I don't need permission, hugs, validations, direction, advice--anything. I only wanted to state, succinctly, that I disagreed.

Do you only literally interpret things? Do you literally think I meant you're teaching me to be Christ like? Nvm don't answer that because I'm done discussing this with you.

So can you just leave this alone?

I mean, I'm gonna say whatever the fuck I want regardless anyway so....

No. No.

Yes.

You are well within your rights to say what you want to say. I'm just telling you throwing around a disability at people, assuming they have one, joke or not, is fucked up. Especially when in some cases those people cant speak up for themselves.

Edit: actually no. Fuck that. I will speak up for people with disabilities. Because they cant speak up for themselves sometimes. I find it offensive and I'd ask that you refrain from doing so.

Not swayed.

I reject the notion that Butler bolting would require Portland to trade Dame.

CJ is good, but he's nowhere near the level that we need to really contend. If Butler leaves and we loose the asset of CJ, it's a step back - but not insurmountable. I still think its well worth the risk.

No one was EVER making fun of people with disabilities.

He doesn't have dementia and we ALL know.

Now AGAIN my mother has dementia, I take care of a person with this disability EVERY FUCKING DAY. I feed her, I bathe her and I fucking dress my mother. I've seen my mother naked....

Now KINDLY stop talking to me about this. I don't need your unnecessary shit...

No. Trade is

CJ -> Butler .... Butler's better, but CJ is under contract longer
Meyers -> Dieng .... Both suck. Meyer's contract is shorter & cheaper.

not to troll you, sorry to hear about your mom. My brother who died earlier this year had down syndrome which lead me even at a young age to end up working with people with mental disabilities both young and old. Dementia is something Ive ran into on multiple occasions and I know that it can be really hard for families to deal with.

Anyways I guess dont have a point other than, I hope you and your son are doing ok through it.
