Jimmy Butler wants out? (He does.)

If the Blazers had Pat Rily as a GM we'd probably have Jimmy Butler by now.

Or more likely, we'd have Riley calling Thibs a motherfucker and hanging up on him.

MIA wants Jimmy. Jimmy wants MIA. MIN would prefer to ship Jimmy to the Eastern Conference, yet the God Riley hasn't been able to make it happen.

So much for that theory...

The medicals were exchanged, which generally in the NBA means this is a done deal. And then, Thibs called back and wanted more picks. And Pat Riley literally — I was told — called him a motherbleeper and hung up the phone."

Jerry Reinsdorf knows the bait'n switch.

Is Turner, Harkless, Aminu, and a 1st for Butler and Dieng that bad of a deal?Compared to the Miami offer I'd say that's pretty good for them.

Aminu is the Blazer who Butler would most respect. His example energizes his teammates. Davis was similar, but he's gone.

I think there is a much bigger chance an NBA coach or gm would look at waiters and think oh this could be our instant offense off the bench guy and want him, than there is they look at Turner and think he could do anything they really covet.
Turner is my least favorite Blazer at the moment, but Waiters? Turner is decent, but overpaid. Waiters is garbage. IMO

Simon will start in 2-3 years. He'll be better than McCollum, who will leave, because he has court vision and can double as PG.

No evidence needed, just eyeball. This is my command.

I expect that as long as Olshey is here, Dame and CJ are as well.

So, the latest is that The owner has agreed to keep trying hard to trade Butler if Butler will keep playing for them. Maybe this would give time to establish some of our players as somewhat valuable. If Turner could show he is valuable as a playmaker, if Layman could show he can shoot consistently, maybe even Leonard could show something with some increased minutes? Time for Harkless to get healthy. As for Trent and Curry, not sure if they will play enough to show something, unless it is in garbage time, but our team never seems to have much of that. The other thing; won't Curry be eligible to be traded by Dec 15; he might be a piece they would like. (I feel kind of foolish keeping this thread going cuz my gut says Olshey is afraid of a risk like this, but there is always a grain of hope.)

If this guys actaully plays in a game with this team again......WOW! I think the crowd will boo the crap out of him.

This is doing irreparable damage to the KAT-team relationship. I can see what Taylor/Thibs are trying to do, but the risk in alienating a 23 yr old franchise star who just signed a 5 yr contract far outweighs the little extra value they eek out of Jimmy.

I think this is them thinking they can pull off another trade like the one they did with Kevin Love, but that was such a fluke. Love also (if memory serves) said he would not re-sign with the Wolves and wanted a trade. They never should have gotten good value for him, but LeBron basically strong armed the team into trading Wiggins for Love. So it's like the Wolves got the impression that if they just wait long enough they will get another #1 pick for a guy that wants out. They don't seem to understand that they're hurting the team chemistry and only driving his value lower and lower.

Must See TV!

This has WWE written all over it. I think Butler actually WANTS to be booed in MIN. I think it will motivate him. And, if he plays great, those boos will quickly turn to cheers.

There not trading Turner. Turner is going to run the 2nd unit without CJ being in the game this season.

As it turned out a wise move by LBJ. Love was a much better fit than Wiggins.

Hate to be crass, but there is now no way this trade will happen; Vulcans would never approve it. Too expensive.

This is the irreparable damage I'm talking about.

Through four games, he's averaging 16/9 and shooting a career worst 42.6% from the field and looks largely disinterested. People can call Towns soft or get after him for dogging it, but I can't blame him. Thibs/Butler undermining him at every turn can take a toll-- it's a toxic work environment.

He’s just proving Butlers point.
