when he was talking about Ant-Scoot-Sharpe going forward, I wish somebody would have asked something like:
"Joe, the biggest failure of the roster over the last 8 seasons has been a massive failure of balance. While the rest of the NBA has invested in wings and two-way players, in length and versatility, in front-court/back-court balance, the Blazers have been perhaps the most unbalanced team in the league. The talent & usage has been in the back court, but the investment was in talent without length, and talent that can't defend; this came at the expense of having enough talent and versatility in the front court. Portland has been way too small. And you're extolling the virtues of another small guard rotation; a rotation without length and a rotation that will be a defensive liability. You're talking about repeating the biggest roster failure of the last 8 seasons, and you're acting like the result will be different this time
my question is: what the hell are you thinking?"
