Trade Josh Hart traded to the Knicks

I'm betting they're trying to use that 1st to dump Nurk. Who knows if they will find any takers though.
That doesn't make sense to me. Management liked him well enough to pay him more than any other team was gonna, and the Blazers have been much worse without Nurk available (I saw 3-6 in some pregame notes today, although I didn't look it up to verify).

Giving up value to get rid of the only good player we have over 6'8" on our roster would be idiocy. To do so because he doesn't fit with a system that has no record of success makes even less sense.

I will admit before I heard about the protection on the 1st -- my grade for deal was like a - C maybe C minus -- but now that I know what it is giving this grade a solid B --- maybe could have been a little better maybe but who really knows and also waiting to see if anything else happens at the deadline. If the Blazers can find a taker for Nurk that would be a win cause talk about someone phoning it in that guy is like -- woohoo got paid now time to just do the bare minimum.

I said dump but I meant they will probably try to get a center back in the deal that may not be as talented but is a better fit in Chauncey's system.

Poeltl, Bamba, etc.

Okie dokie. That makes more sense if they can do it!

Edit: although I still think that building for a system that has no track record of success in the NBA makes no sense. Billups should maximize wins given the players he has, rather than requiring inferior players to (allegedly) succeed.

Can’t wait to see Reddish and his sub 40% FG% and sub 33% 3pt % jack up shots like he’s Ray Allen

Never said I agreed either, just what I think this FO is going to do...

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get off the Blazers' bench.

Make a trad, make a trade, make a trade. Trade is made. Whaaaa!!! I hate all of this! Joe sucks! Cry! Cry! this fucking place. Too bad we couldn't move Hart for Webanama. That was his value, right?

Make a good trade. This isn’t win now. Are we gearing up for a rebuild? The biggest gripe I have is this team has no direction.

They say they want to build a contender around Lillard but haven’t made moves that would indicate that. Or if they’re rebuilding it’s the most half ass rebuild I’ve ever seen.

I'm good with this trade if that pick is from NY itself. We can finally put a pick in play for trades either tomorrow or during the draft.

iTs So EaSy oN tHe TrAde MaChInE.

If they want to put a contender around Lillard, every Blazer other than him should be shopped. They should be aggressive. Roll the dice. Gamble. You only have a talent like him ever so often.

I'm gonna laugh if that pick is the Wizards pick.

And now they landed a potential 1st round pick that they could use now, or more likely, in the offseason, to try to do just that. Hart wasn't an option in the offseason to help build around Dame. So they did what they could.

same story every year....we go back & forth and round & round on trade proposals, essentially jacking up the perceived value of what Blazer player are. Then, when the rest of the league doesn't want to pay what we think is the 'real' value, it's got to be Portland giving away players for lots less than they are worth. Stupid fuck GM idiot can't make the kind of trade we just know is out there

Btw, Reddish is an RFA after this season, so not even cost controlled.

Well when we watch the Lakers get a player like Hachimura for coins in their couch. Then get all the talent they got in return for basically a 6th man who no one in the league wants anything to do with.

I’m waiting for our turn to fleece someone..

This Knicks forum is generally overjoyed with the Deal. They hate Reddish.
