Jrue Holiday trade ideas

The only problem we may have created is that Milwaukee is going to be so good for the next few years, teams in the East may just decide to plan for the future rather than compete now..

I love Dame but I think people may be underrating what the Bucks gave up

if you go by Winshares, Jrue & Grayson last year combined for 11.8 winshares. In Dame's best season he had 12.6 winshares. He had 9.0 last year. And Jrue gave the Bucks an elite defender at the normal point of attack

now I do think Dame and Giannis can develop pretty spectacular synergy, but that's not certain and it will take some time

Then we'd have to find a home for Brogdon. Maybe Miami could use HIM?

Can't lie, that disappoints me a little. I would like to see Jrue in a Blazers jersey - he's one of my fave players and would be our best defensive guard... ever?

There is just no way the Blazers did this deal without at least somewhat knowing what Holiday's value is around the league. There is a baseline that they were comfortable with and now it's going to be a separate job to see whether Joe can increase that baseline by soliciting other offers.

Miami is the fit. Obviously there are other teams but Miami makes the most sense. It's the simple deal of Lowry, Jaquez, Jovic and their firsts in 2028 and 2030. The one thing I wonder about is if we get unprotected swaps too since Jrue is such an amazing fit for Miami.

We had to trade two 1st rounders for Covington. I would suspect Jrue is at least twice as valuable than Covington was. Not saying we’ll get four draft picks, but it better be at least two solid ones. Not late round picks from contending teams. We need additional picks from now until 2029 to help fill out this team.

Robust market. Blazers know Jrue is gonna fetch some good value.

One look at what fans ware offering for Jrue gives you an idea of his BASELINE value. Now that he's actively being shopped Blazers are hoping a team slightly overpays.
Ironically, we trade a great but way overpaid PG in Dame and get a very good 2-way PG on a much better contract (2 yr max) that will likely be in much greater demand from a lot more teams! well done Joe

Is Jrue worth more than OG and Gradey Dick? That's what we were talking about the return from Toronto to be.

Look at okc as a potential for crap contracts (bertans), potential flyer (poku), junk and picks

As good of a fit as Jrue would be in Miami he might be an even better fit for Toronto. I think Brooklyn gets value in filling a position of need at SG and both getting to see if they like Gary and they'll have his Bird rights. I think that's worth the tax hit and second rounders. I don't know if this would keep us above the salary floor but I think it would and the savings would make Jody very happy. If we were really enamored with Dick, this would be a home run. Obviously we are the Bucks in this trade.
