Jrue Holiday trade ideas (1 Viewer)

Joe seems patient when it comes to finding the deal he wants. I could see him keeping Jrue until the deadline or trading him tomorrow. Either way I think Joe crushed the draft and the Dame trade.

I think Holiday would have been in one of those videos if Joe planned on having him report to camp.
I think Joe has a short timeline to flip him if he finds the right deal before he has to sign him and a lot of interest to field right about now.

I believe so
Maybe not October 3rd, maybe before 1st regular season Game, Maybe a bit after Nov 26 when he can be traded with another. Maybe after Dec 15 when more players become trade eligible. Maybe before Feb deadline if Joe feels his value will be higher. But my guess is before Monday

I really think some people are going to be shocked how good Dame will be now that he has a good team around him.
That team doesn't have a lot of guys to double off of that won't torch the opponent, so teams will have to try to cover Dame with single coverage which he lights up every time and then when they start doubling him, he'll pick them apart. The defenders he'll have around him are better than anything we've ever put around him. Dame/Giannis pick and roll is almost unguardable. It should be a lot of fun to watch that team.

If the Heat overpay, which they would have to, to get Holiday that would be an interesting defense for the Bucks to go up against but they won't get Holiday and they will be in trouble. Celtics/Bucks ECF if everyone is healthy for the playoffs.

Well we don't have long to wait and find out. He'll either be traded or we'll see him on media day. I'm betting he'll be traded.

Holiday is the player we have had that will actually bring back more than fair value. Which means he'll probably be traded sooner than later and odds are it won't be disappointing.
I'm also on the more recent forum opinion that a massive haul of frp's isn't my ideal scenario anymore. I'd rather get a guaranteed starter or two and a pick or two instead of a potential contributor and a bunch of picks. Three-fifths of the future are in place. If they only got one guy for Holiday like Kuminga, Wagner, PWill, Cam Johnson (I know this list isn't realistic, just catch my drift) I would still consider it a success. Picks are great, but without knowing where in the first round or if that pick ever contributes, I'll take the guaranteed contributor every time.

George Karl has been on a string of bad takes recently. Maybe he's secretly auditioning for one of the ESPN morning shows.
Silly take. Love the noise, though. ty, Karl.

No chance we are getting 3 picks and young players. I think we get a fair haul but i think expectations need to be tempered.
this is what I’m thinking. Open for the pleasant surprise, though.

Anyways My Kids are all Js. Jared, Jonathan, Jordan ( Daughter ). I wish I would have thought of Jrue ( so cool)
I like it too. But it’s just a cool visual thing, or alliterative thing like in your case. Because, try as you might, there’s no way you can make “Drew” and “Jrue” sound distinct from one another. They’re homophones.

Wagner and Johnson won’t be available. If we aren’t certain either PWill or Kuminga will be better than Grant, I see little reason to take them on and develop when we have plenty of young guys already. PWill might be worth getting only because he would cost less than Kuminga, but he should not be a reason to take back less picks. Murphy is the only guy worth taking less picks for, and that’s only if the Pelicans were willing to give him up in an all in move.

I'm still rooting for the Bulls we take a bad contract off of their hands (Ball) and a good young player that they haven't really hit the mark on (Williams) and our pick back and a future FRP with or without conditions.

The idea that the Celtics are "front runners" is a little disconcerting. They do have all of their picks besides 2028 plus they have the Warriors pick protected top 4 in this draft, so I guess a package of Brogdon, Horford and two to three FRPs is possible and maybe to the right team (Clippers) Brogdon yields even another first because he'll be healthy by their playoff run.

Ideal trade right now:

Trade according to rumors that Celtics are front runners:

We can cut Svi and whichever Morris twin this is but Kenyon Martin Jr. and Brandon Boston Jr. are both flight risks because they are free agents after this season and don't have qualifying offers. So they are both unrestricted. We could come out of this with two fairly low FRPs and the only guys we might want to keep as rentals.

it will never be over...always a next chapter

Blazers still aren't past drafting Bowie instead of MJ
Brandon Miller is Sam Bowie according to people at Blazers Edge. "What if the Bulls traded the #3 pick Michael Jordan". I like optimism, but extreme fantasy gets a little crazy over there.

How about Memphis ?? Ja Morant keeps getting suspended for waving guns around on livestreams. The Grizzlies could use another PG. Plus it looks like they have salary space to sign All-Star Holiday.

might need a 3rd team to get involved, Memphis does not have much for outgoing contracts.

Love the first one. Second one is disgusting. 2 1sts and a whole bunch of nothing.

How about this version of the Boston trade. I know this feels like a lot, but I think each individual trade makes sense and is fair value for what the teams are trying to accomplish.

Boston
Holiday (2yr @ $36.8M)

for
Brogdon (2yr @ $22.5M)
Horford (2yr @ $10M)
Pritchard ($4M expiring - cut)
'24 GSW Pick
'26 Boston Pick
'27 Atlanta 2nd Rounder

Brogdon and 2 picks for Holiday. Horford and Pritchard are salary filler and a second comes along due to the extra year.

Clippers
Brogdon (2yr @ $22.5M)
Horford (2yr @ $10M)
Pritchard ($4M expiring - cut)

for
Morris ($17.1M expiring)
Powell (3yr @ $18.0M)
Martin Jr ($1.9M expiring)
'28 Clippers Pick

Morris has had issues on the team and needs to be moved. Clippers get a great PG for the team and a serviceable big.

NY Knicks
Morris ($17.1M expiring)

for
Fournier ($18.8M with a team option the following year)
'24 Detroit 2nd
'25 Brooklyn 2nd

Fournier is wanting a trade. They swap him out for Morris to give Knicks more size at PF.

Houston
Powell (3yr @ $18.0M)

for
Porter Jr ($15.8M with $1M guaranteed for next season)
'26 Brooklyn 1st

Rockets get a good swingman for an absolute toxic player and a pick. Powell will help the young players play the right way.

Portland
Martin Jr ($1.9M expiring) -> Likely starting SF
Fournier ($18.8M with a team option the following year) -> Kept for season
Porter Jr ($15.8M with $1M guaranteed for next season) -> Cut before he ever steps foot on a plane
'24 GSW Pick
'26 Boston Pick
'26 Brooklyn 1st
'28 Clippers Pick

'24 Detroit 2nd
'25 Brooklyn 2nd
'27 Atlanta 2nd Rounder

for
Holiday

Portland goes all in for picks - without any long-term salary. The only salary that extends beyond the '23-'24 season is the $1M on Porter's contract. Porter is cut before he steps foot on a plane. Fournier sucks, but he'd be a good locker room guy. Martin has some potential and would likely be the starting SF this season.
