If Neil told Ed to take the Brooklyn deal - he's a bigger fool that I ever thought him to be. :banghead:

...I think it was more like, if you want the most money possible then you should take the Brooklyn deal otherwise the most we can bring you back for is about 66% less than their offer we'd love to have you but the Brooklyn deal is a lot more lucrative :dunno:

It's gotta be more expensive living in Brooklyn than Portland...

Did he not even mention the large TPE this time? It was obvious it wasn't getting used a few days ago, but now it's really obvious it isn't.

I guess saving PA money really was the plan this offseason, and it'll be the same next offseason until Turner and Meyers are off the cap. I bet Olshey is still here at that point too.

I just watched it... sounds to me like Neil is content if they don’t make any more moves this offseason... full of excuses again. Almost like the exit interview... he is such a clown
We are done for this offseason ???
It took Neal about 30 seconds to reference the "limited tools" he had to make moves...with of course no mention that he is solely responsible for why they have such limited tools.

However, he has one of the largest TPEs in the league which is a big tool.

He was referring to only free agency when he said limited tools. He literally said right after that statement that they would now move on to the rest of the summer.

I'm still holding out hope for 19 more days...

I would be shoked if Neil use the tpe. He's a fucking liar. Adding playoff Veterans and use the tpe haha my Ass

So he's a liar because he hasn't used a TPE yet that still has 19 days to be used just because you don't think he will use it? I completely agree with you if it goes unused but I don't get crucifying someone for lying when he still has a chance to do something about it.

He's had it for 346 days so far. To say he hasn't had a chance to do something with it yet, is far fetched.

I assume that rather than saying he's a liar because he hasn't used the TPE, it's more that @Labinot41 doesn't believe Neil when he claims he will use the TPE because he already perceives him to be a liar independent of the TPE usage.

more snake oil crap from the user car salesman, the reason we were limited was his awful spending decisions in the summer of 16 (did he say that?) - he can't be gone fast enough but that unfortunately seems unlikely to happen, welcome to the treadmill for another few years

That isn't what he said and you even bolded it!!!! man....lol.

He still has a chance to do something with it.
He hasnt had a chance to do something with it.

These two things are not the same......

:banghead2::banghead2::banghead2::banghead2::banghead2::banghead2::banghead2:

Another thing that pissed me off at the press conference... the first thing Neil said to defend and gloat about these signings was how great they fit with Evan Turner... so now we are building around Even freakin Turner... he is doubling down on his biggest mistake... this guy will never admit he is wrong... unbelievable

The whole point of the Crabbe trade was to be in a position where if they underachieved at the trade deadline (which they were at the time), they could easily duck the tax (which they did). Then this summer the plan was to go all-in. Getting swept out of the playoffs certainly put a huge damper on going all-in though. They weren't going to use the exception during last season unless it was the difference between a deep playoff run or a 1st round exit. After the season Olshey admitted that strategy was too conservative and he should've been more aggressive.

So I'll once again say that he has 19 days to make good on saying this team needs vets with playoff experience. Until that point he hasn't lied or misled about the TPE.

A 2nd unit with Collins, Biggie, Curry, Stauskas (all can shoot the ball) and Turner as a play maker does make sense.

A 2nd unit with inconsistent shooters or non shooters (Ed) with Turner - is not a great fit.
What about Wade Baldwin? I Really like what i saw from him and he seems to be a Good guy

Ed Davis was never brought in to be a shooter, he was brought in to do exactly what he did, rebound on the offensive and defensive end. To say that we looked at Ed and he didn't fit with what we want to do because he can't shoot doesn't make sense because if that were the case then Meyers would have gotten his playing time. If the argument is that Ed hurts our spacing and Meyers doesn't then why didn't we just play Meyers?

In 19 days you’re going to be telling me how dumb I am or I will be expecting you to go to town on Olshey either way I’m good ! :)

Uhmm, you’ve seen the rest of Meyers game, right?

Was bothering me throughout the entire press conference, but I finally figured out who Seth Curry reminded me of--Ludacris. Specifically how he looks in the Fast and Furious movies.

Neil's answer was basically that he was on the phone with Ed and told him to take the Brooklyn deal.

Lol what? They look nothing alike...

From what I've read NO wants Zach to play closer to the basket. Zach and Ed played well together but it forced Zach to play more on the perimeter so that Ed could be in the paint setting screens/rebounding. So maybe we'll see more of a Zach/Biggie frontcourt off the bench? Defense from Biggie is a big question mark.

Well what’s he going to say about a guy currently on the team? “Unfortunately we still have Evan Turner, he has been terrible”

I know it’s fun to give Olshey crap, but I thought what he said was for the most part accurate. Ed’s lack of offense was a part of the problem in the Pelicans series. The inability of the bench guards to hit shots was a big factor.

Was that your analysis before Olshey made those moves? Or are you just rationalizing them now?

hey man, can you come up with a comment or take on anything other than trashing NO?

Why should he? Can you come up with a comment or take on anything other than defending NO?

Before making what moves? I'm simply stating what happened.

I know what you mean. His moves so far are so small, they're practically invisible.

Stop batting your eyelashes innocently. When you recount history from his slant, you know perfectly well that you're defending him.
