I don't want to bag on Ed because he was one of my favorite players, but he was a liability at the free throw line at the end of games. But damn he brought it every night. Can Caleb become mentally tough? Again I think he has it in him do so. He has been through a lot.
We'll find out...Big Ed was great...I'll miss him...out of my control, next man up as they say in sports.

My personal scouting report heh, on Swanigan was that he plays hard, but he’ll have to adjust to the speed of nba players he got heavy feet, not the quickest guy, but slow guys have adjusted before by just playing smarter, I think he can get there with experience.

Oh Also I think the “problem” I have with losing ED is that he did more then just on the court stuff, he was obviously good friends with Dame and CJ, never heard him complain, did the right things last summer to get his shoulder right and come back stronger. Not saying Swanigan can’t do that, but I think Ed’s hard work, no whining attitude will be missed.

How many times did Steve Blake come back....Ed could be the next Steve Blake

Wait what? Is that Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite? He's got a twin?

Casey Holdahl did softly ask about the players that have left. But nothing specific about Ed Davis and how much he meant to the team and Dame. Weak sauce.

Neil's answer was basically that he was on the phone with Ed and told him to take the Brooklyn deal.

Then he did the UNFORGIVABLE and mentions Meyers as a better option.
So, now Neil is taking over coaching duties also?

Another thing that pissed me off at the press conference... the first thing Neil said to defend and gloat about these signings was how great they fit with Evan Turner... so now we are building around Even freakin Turner... he is doubling down on his biggest mistake... this guy will never admit he is wrong... unbelievable
If this is more coaching by Olshey, it's good coaching, means he wants Turner on the bench, not starting.

Olshey said he was on the phone as Davis got his Nets offer, and influenced Davis to accept this very first offer. So Olshey had a much lower opinion of him than we do.
I think @hoopsjock has a reasonable assumption about Olshey not matching Brooklyn's offer for Davis and telling him to take it; that he thought he had a sign-and-trade deal for Cousins in hand, and figured he wouldn't be able to pay ED after getting hard-capped. I don't think letting ED go necessarily means that he wasn't valued; simply that he thought he had something else working that he valued more, and then it fell apart on him.

Sort of like his career after leaving the Clippers?

He certainly has a quickness problem, but last year he wasn't strong enough. That part is certainly fixable.
