Imma say this and I really don't care about the repercussions.

NURK.... STOP FLOPPING....

Lol lillard and cj allways played shit defense (not this Season but before) and nobody said anything. The way they treatet Nurkic was sad. Remember we were 26th in defense last year with shit defense teams like suns, nets, lakers, and with Nurkic coming we was top 10. I don't like him in Offense sometimes and his Fouling and turnovers but he is the rim protector we need with Dame and Cj as bad defenders
There's a big difference between being bad at defense and not trying on defense.

No, I'm sure you would much rather the flopping be eliminated completely from the game.

I admit it's not dignified, but.....if they work, are you really going to complain about them?

If it gets him to the line, frustrates the opponent, gets the opponent in foul trouble/ejected, and gets us points on the board, then I really don't give a shit about how undignified it makes him look.

And let's be honest with ourselves: it's not like he's taking pussy shots here. For fuck's sake...he had an entire bridge knocked out of his mouth last season. And since then, he's taken at least 2 elbows directly to the face that I can think of off the top of my head.

Call him a flopper if you want. But it's not nearly on the level of a Harden flop. Nurk actually EARNS the flop.

In the grand scheme of things people don't get technical fouls in flop situations. Millsap last night had every reason to complain about that bullshit offensive of foul call when Nurk flopped. It was a terrible call. Nurkic flopped on the layup where got swatted too. That was an excellent block and penalizing it does a disservice to basketball. I think it's kind of shameful that people will complain about the flopping of Harden and Chris Paul and take them to task over it, bu then when one of ours flops (and I don't give a damn if it's nurkic or not) people in here are actually supporting it...

Its shameful. And justifying it by minimizing it comparing it to Hardens flops is not a good debate tactic. If you take this stance you have no room to complain about flopping.

I hate that bullshit and it needs to be taken out of the game.

Short answer--yes. Flopping sucks, even if it's a guy on my team who's doing it.

...sorry if this has been shared already, but LOL! :biglaugh:

I have ZERO respect for flopping. Period. When you flop, you're a goddamn liar and a SOFTY. Plain and simple.

I don't think Nurkic is a flopper. I think he takes a hit, then sells the contact. Sure he's overly dramatic, but I haven't seen him do it when there wasn't contact. BRoy learned to sell the contact by his girly yell every time he drove. Dame had to learn the sell the contact because he wasn't getting calls, ever. Until a player does that, the refs seem to swallow their whistles more often than not. Sadly, that's NBA basketball.

My man, Nurk absolutely IS a flopper. Some of his flops are downright egregious. Like the one on Millsap when he cocked his head back a full 2 seconds after he actually got contact. He's developing a rep.

I'm just happy that we finally have a go-to flopper. Since the league never cleans that shit up, it's a necessary weapon to have in your arsenal.

Sad but true

Sorry. Any embellishment of contact is soft. FUCKING SOFT.

And newsflash, that "AYYYE" bullshit that players do (as well as flipping their head back like idiots) doesn't garner them calls nor respect from the officials.

Nurkic yesterday was pretty annoying. But not only this game, it's all season. Very inefficiency stats for a lowpost center. Watching Centers like Embiid, Towns, Porzingis , Cousins, Davis, Miles Turner and also Jokic on offense you can see the big difference on the Talent in contrast to Nurkic. I have nothing Personal against Nurkic, he is a funny nice guy and Nurkfever was a nice time, but his style of playing is annoying and old school. Lowpost Centers without range are rare in today league. If Nurkic wouldn't have a good defense he wouldn't be a starter in any team in this league in my oppinion. But who knows, maybe he turns into a Marc Gasol Type player.

tend to agree and that is going to make his contract negotiations this summer very interesting. Question - would you rather have Vucevic or Nurk, not considering salaries, just who would make our team better?

Nurk. Defense is part of the game and he's 4y younger.

Nurkic, no question. Like I said his defense is a big reason why the Blazers are top 3 this year in DeDrtng. Vucevic sucks on defense

Anyone else think that all the weight loss has affected his play?

The bulk helped him create space. It's not so easy this season it seems.

I don't think Nurk's problem is his weight. He was a turnover machine last year, and he still is. Even more maddening is the way he flicks the ball in the general direction of the hoop on a hope and a prayer it goes in. I still have hope he'll get better. But at this point it seems like the team functions better with Collins.

Stotts has Nurkic as the center of the passing wheel, a la Bill Walton. Nurkic is a very good passer for a center; Walton was a great one. Last season Nurkic made surprise passes on the fly; this season they're predictable interceptable set plays.
