Killed in Saudi Arabia embassy/consulate, dismembered, Saudi's claimed he left the consulate, Saudi's did a clean up job before investigators could investigate, Saudi goon squad flew in on chartered jets weekend before killing.

It is almost impossible to imagine. the mental gymnastics required to believe what people believe. Trump says he'll give a million dollars to charity if Warren takes a test and it says she's "an Indian"

His words. Not if she is 1/32nd or 1/1000th.

I'm surprised at a lot of things that aren't threads. I wondered why nobody started a Farrakhan thread about his supposed anti termite comment and why he isn't banned from Twitter.

A few years ago, I was keeping up on life inside Yemen by reading Twitters from ordinary young men there. They were liberal, middle class, and cheerful. Sometimes they talked about their dual national Yemen government (the Houthi one and the fake one living in Saudi Arabia, afraid to show its face in Yemen, the one the world recognizes). They passed rumors that Saudi Arabia might attack, because Yemeni storekeepers, decision-makers, etc. were starting to ignore the fake government that wasn't there. One day they were alarmed at a residential hill in the capital exploding, and speculated that it had been bombed. I saw almost-live little Twitter films (the kind that last like 20 seconds) of the hill taken from downtown a mile away.

In a few days, I saw news accounts of Saudi Arabia starting a war there. Well, you know who controls Twitter. Next time I checked a month later, I couldn't read those accounts anymore.

As much as I would love to bash Trump for his usual routine, I am not surprised and every president since I can remember has played the same game. The Saudis were responsible for 9/11 for crying out loud and we turned a blind eye to that. What makes anyone think our current disaster of a president would do anything about a reporter being off'd by them?

Funny thing about this is how brazen the Saudi's are. If they literally would have killed him ANYWHERE besides an embassy then they would have got off with zero backlash.

I disagree with that. The embassy is Saudi sovereign property. They can clean up the evidence easily and thoroughly there.

Embassys are sacred ground. Politicians care about what goes on there more than they do anywhere else. They are suppose to be s safe place. Also doing it at the embassy removes almost all of their deniability.
