Great thread. Thanks!
Have been thinking about getting Lawless at Redbox and I will now after reading that so many of you liked it.

As a WASP, I'm always interested/fascinated by his racial takes (and the Nazi one in IB), and how Sam Jackson pulls them off for him. And Christophe Woltz is rapidly moving to the favorites tier.

wow, that is a bold statement or rather a strong endorsement. That wacko fucking freak makes some damn fine movies.

The way he switched back and forth between the fucked up shit, the funny shit, and the serious shit was amazing. They were integrated so fantastically.

Jeff, who lives at home was a good movie. Ed helms and Jason segel were great

finally saw looper. relatively entertaining, but with silly contrived plot that, even with disbelief about all the time travel paradoxes suspended, made no sense to me. particularly the ending.

Zero Dark Thirty

That was really well done. Even though you know the ending the ride getting there is intense. Pretty amazing.

Well I love Movies last week I saw two, Django Unchained and Jack Reacher. I enjoyed them both. I'm not a huge Quentin Tarantino fan and thought Django was fantastic. There isn't that many movies that I would see again in the theater but Django I would pay to see again it has a little bit of everything. I thought the movie was awesome!!

Django Unchained- Good but 35 minutes too long

Skyfall- Hated it, no joke. Fell asleep 50 minutes, and turned it off at the last 20 minutes. I guess I'm just not a Bond fan, though I did enjoy Casino Royale.

Zero Dark Thirty- Not bad.

I dig Tarantino's movies, but what's with the racial redemption movies? Inglorious Basterds and now Django Unchained?

I haven't seen it, and I think I'll like it, but I just think that's a weird and maybe even lazy direction for him to be branching out in.

One of my old college roommates worked on the set for Django though. A lot of films are shot in New Orleans nowadays because there's some sort of huge tax break for doing so. They actually make a point of only hiring production assistants, camera men, etc. that are Louisiana residents, because otherwise they don't get the same tax break.

It's pretty cool hearing my old roommate's stories. He recently worked on Django, Man v. Food, Swamp Wars, Anthony Bourdain's show, and apparently just wrapped up some movie starring one of the kids from High School Musical and the villain from Avatar. He makes dirt money, but his stories are always insane. He'd always come home with some story about drinking with William Macy, toking with Adam Richman, or getting chewed out by Anthony Bourdain.

The Innkeepers. Don't watch it. Nothing happens in the whole movie. Really bad. You do get to see Code Name Charlie though.

Watched Moonrise Kingdom yesterday. Pretty good.

Watched The Life and Death of Peter Sellers last night. Excellent portrayal by Geoffrey Rush.

Seven Psychopaths

Christopher Walken
Woody Harrelson
Sam Rockwell
Colin Farrell
Harry Dean Stanton
Tom Waits

Low budget Pulp Fiction wannabe but with this cast it's still a really fun movie to watch.

I count 6 actors, presumably all playing themselves.

Who's number 7? Steve Buscemi seems like a good fit.

I just watched Ted too. Outside of the creepy father and son i wasn't a fan of it, of course i'm really tired of Seth MacFarlane in general.

Didnt find ted that funny.... Which is surprising because i like family guy

BRUCE LEE: MY BROTHER

bruce_lee_my_brother.jpg

A total waste of money. Made in China and one of the producers is Bruce Lee's actual brother. It follows his early career in China and California. His love interest is a Chinese woman in this movie, but in reality, his real girlfriend was a "Westerner" -- Linda.

Yeah, I wasted two hours of my life I'll never get back.
