OT Lillard files for divorce

But, seriously his divorce or what he did or his wife did is none of our damned business.

I agree mostly, but as others mentioned he literally made a rap song about it. So I mean, it's not like he tried to keep it quiet, unlike the rumors of his dalliances, which it appears he did. I find it odd that people think that public figures who willingly air their dirty laundry publicly are somehow off sides for us to comment on. Y'all going to bat for Logan Paul next? I get Lillard isn't in his ballpark of D-baggery, but come on, he's a public figure who chose to publicly shame his soon to be ex-wife with a rap song. Unlike Dame, his wife is a private figure, but not anymore sadly, thanks to Dame.

It matters to me. Dame has a PR, music and legal machine behind him. His soon to be ex does not. I'm just like the rest of you and not in the inner circle who knows what truly happened. But when I see a one-sided public relations push I know when to call something fishy. There were hundreds of articles about Dame cheating earlier this year. There's only a handful today. I saw them, and turned a blind eye like the rest of you. When I heard Dame was calling out his wife for cheating, that's what ticked me off. If he's going that route in court, he's going to get trounced IMO.

Exactly, I notice those who are attempting to shame others into silence, all seem to be defending Dame. I honestly barely even care. I just saw the thread and thought "Aha! No wonder he wanted to move to Miami, I would too if I was worth 100's of millions and recently divorced and single". That's it.

What boggles my mind is those who are angry that others might find it uncouth that Dame would publicly shame his soon to be ex-wife in a rap song after quite a few reports he also cheated on her. That's just a weird double standard to me.

Doesnt matter whos cheated on who in Oregon.
He will be splitting everything he’s earned up to this point plus investments. If she had her own business I doubt he pays spousal support but he child support, which he should.
I ended up paying spousal support for 10 years because my ex didn’t work. She’s the one that filed too.
Fought it in court and judge said because she was a stay at home mom id pay spousal.
In this State the guy always gets fucked in divorce cases.

I shared this with our group text thread as a friend of mine is tight with Dame and had told me a while ago what was going on. It was suggested to not put it on here to avoid speculation and also the inevitable, "link?" nonsense. It certainly made for a mercurial summer and wish him all the best with what he is going through with a new 'home' and his family life up in the air.

He expressed himself through his craft about personal issues. Though his lyrics are public his private life is his business and his alone. I don't see that he directed anything at her in there. We can infer what his lyrics mean, but whatever is behind them is for him. We can empathize and have an understanding he is going through personal shit and not be all up in it.

In this case there may be no drama at all. They might have a very specific prenup. If that's the case this won't be messy at all. They'll just do what they said they'd do.

So if you told us dame will know it’s you?

We can, sure. But what would be the fun in that?

barfo

Probably about as fun as seeing him traded to Milwaukee.

This thread is evidence that his song implicitly throws his wife under the bus, and it's very well understood in rap and NBA circles what he was communicating. Again, why people are defending the ultra rich famous person who appears to be a hypocrite, and wanting to silence those who are supporting his wife is very, very odd. Especially when they do so in a way that is disguised (but is in fact NOT) the moral high-ground in a paternalistic way. I'm not going to comment further, but I find this thread and those taking that position to be absolutely wild in their inconsistent application of "morality".

I know someone who is 100% in the know of this situation and I also promised not to give any details. IYKYK but I certainly am much much much more understanding now of what’s been going on with Dame the last few months. I just talked to this person within the last few days and I will say it has dramatically changed my view of the whole Dame situation.
I wish Dame the best of luck and with what I know now, I would have rooted for him regardless of where he got traded to. Dame is a Blazer for life and I will continue to root for him to win a championship(s).

I'm glad to know this. I assumed something like this must have been going on.

I don't care who's fault it is. I just hope Dame and his wife and family can move on happily soon.

I don’t know if the truth will ever be leaked but deep down I hope it does.

I'm just saying it's none of our business one way or the other. I'm not trying to silence anyone. It's just none of our business period. Trying to question my morality is ridiculous. I'm not someone who arbitrarily applies morality. If you think that, you don't know me from Adam.

Dame and his family have asked for privacy and I intend to respect that request.

This is you, right?

Was it someone from the blazers organization?

I know I can be a real SoB at times but this thread pretty much sums up why I am always annoyed at some cause the this forum really lacks class at times but oh well -- free speech is great even when it complete crap

Great player. His private life doesn’t interest me one bit. That goes for any Blazer.

Had he went to Miami id of never cheered for him. That's the truth. But Milwaukee. Hell fucking yeah I will!

I feel sorry for Dame.

Clearly his head wasn't right this summer, whose would be in the middle of a divorce? Then we get #3 in the draft and have no choice but to take Scoot. Dame feels rejected a second time. Then his agent blows it by publicly demanding a trade to only one place. Then Dame asks for a do over and Cronin says no. Another rejection. Then he's traded to a place about as un-Miami as it gets.

Be careful what you wish for.

No wonder this is how he looks.

I feel sorry for so many more people in this world than someone who is going to retire closer to a billionaire than a millionaire

this photo is Lillard with a beautiful baby and a new uniform for a contending team. "Feeling sorry for Dame" doesn't qualify as a description. No troll points awarded

If you believe the Golliver piece, it was Jody who said no. She wanted to move on. Which is ironic considering he thanked her and not Joe.

Does he look happy to you?
