If you believe the Golliver piece, it was Jody who said no. She wanted to move on. Which is ironic considering he thanked her and not Joe.
I'm just a little skeptical about the timeline. The story about Dame wanting to rescind his trade request said the ask was made in a meeting on Sept 5. The Golliver story said JA said what she said in a zoom call in early September. Now, it's possible the zoom call was arranged because they knew Cronin was going to be meeting with Dame (and his agent?); and that Cronin may have been anticipating the rescind request from Dame and was asking for direction from JA.
in any event, I don't believe that JA just passed down an edict without full advice from Cronin. I think the 'it's gone to far to come back' stance was from both Cronin and JA. And the 'too far' was a direct response to the actions of Dame's agent, and the likely well founded suspicions that Riley was part of that Miami-or-bust strategy
I've been saying since about the 3rd week in July that my suspicion was that the Blazer front office, and JA, were likely mildly outraged by the actions of Goodwin & Riley and that a trade with Miami was not going to happen. I've seen nothing in the last 3 weeks that disputes that suspicion
