Love gets in over Aldridge

Fuckin pathetic.

Worst team in the conference. 11 wins

Congrats, he deserves it.

No reason for me to watch the All-Star game now. Two guys, and possibly 3 since I consider Griffin an even player, get in instead of LMA.

Yeah, without him Minnesota might be the worst team in the NBA, instead of just the worst team in the West.

Well done, Stern. You got another white boy in the game, regardless of how fucking terrible his team is, and how terrible he is on defense.

I hope our scorekeepers start gifting aldridge free throws like the timberwolves due to love. So pathetic thAt love gets it. Aldridge is,by far the superior player

Blazers @ Minny next Monday. Hopefully LMA drops 50 on Love's head, instead of his usual 36 and 37.

Stat padding pays off.

Who knew?

Ridiculous. But what else can you expect of Stern?

someone on the radio this morning had a good point, the NBA all star game is about this season and not an accumulation of their career. Their point was that Duncan shouldn't have made the team, due to his lower stats than other players.

I'm not saying Love isn't a worthy player, but historically, when was the last time a team with 11 wins gets rewarded?

Of the top 8 teams in the west, Portland is the only one who didn't get a player selected to the team. It doesn't surprise me (nor does ESPN removing the Lakers vs Portland game, and replacing it with a Hornets/Clippers game). I hoped he'd take it out on the pacers, but appears not to be doing that.

Just another kick in the nuts from the NBA.

Sorry, am I missing something?

Love's got the far superior numbers in just about everything. Except defense, and even then, LA'strave D isn't that much better to assume he was clearly better than Love. I thought it was a tough choice, but by no means is it a travesty for Love to get in over Aldridge.

Monta Ellis didn't make it last year (over Roy) despite having better #'s. Why?

his team sucked. Love's team sucks (and since LaMarcus became the main guy on offense, his #'s are more impressive than his seasonal averages).

I'm not one that's going to argue. Love has had a great season thus far. But please give Lamarcus the credit he deserves on defense. Dude guards 1 through 5 and does it well.

Ellis didn't have better numbers than Roy. Roy dominated Ellis in advanced stats. Ellis just played a shit load of minutes, and I'm sure the coaches noticed.

That's funny, because LMA treated Love like his bitch the last two times they played. Anybody who watched those last two meetings, and how Love had to be pulled off of guarding LMA, knows who is the better NBA player, and who is the stat freak on a terrible team. But, Love is white, and Stern's gotta have a white US player in the game, even if he is LMA's bitch. :devilwink:

They just showed video of Love hearing the news from Rambis. Not a single player budged even an inch toward him to congratulate him, and the guy next to him turned his head back toward whoever he was talking to before Love even sat down. :)

Ellis averaged more points, more steals, more assists, more rebounds, the same number of blocks and was better from 3. Monta was worse than Roy via PER though, but it was about the same difference that Love has over LaMarcus.

Minutes? 37 vs 41. Not a huge difference in minutes as Love (37) vs LaMarcus (39) either.

Ellis had a lower PER than Roy in that situation. He was also a lot more inefficient than Roy.

Aldridge has a lower PER than Love in this situation.

4 minutes is definitely a big deal.

If you were a GM, who would you pick to be your starting Power Forward vs. the two?

Then I guess ZBO should have made that year in Portland when he averaged 20/10. What was the reason given that he didn't? The W/L record.

ZBO was not nearly as statistically dominant as Love.

I'm not going to bother arguing this any further. I would have been fine with Aldridge or Love. There's no point getting sour over something that doesn't even matter.

lol at you making a body language assessment of the situation.

RT @jonahballow Rambis told the #Twolves & @KevinLove during pregame b/f tonight's game. All his teammates cheered & Rambis gave him a hug

You are wrong. His teammates don't hate him like you suggest.

Can we please not make this a racial issue.

Love is putting up stats that NO ONE has put up in 28 years.
