Love gets in over Aldridge

lol You're seriously trying way too hard to push a narrative.

Ok we get it, you think that Aldridge was so much better than Love this year. Fine by me, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But belittling Love's accomplishments and pointing out things that somehow no one else sees (i.e. none of his teammates like him, no one congratulated him, all GMs would choose Aldridge over Love etc.) speaks volumes about you, not Love or Aldridge.

Also, Love, Aldridge and Randolph deserved to make it over Duncan.

That's worth complaining about. This, not so much. Both are having magnificent seasons.

The best 2 or 3 players from the best team always make the All-Star Team.

There's always going to be the one or two guys who get the nod because of their past achievements. Jason Kidd, Tim Duncan, Tracy McGrady, and Allen Iverson just to name a few.

Well, I only posted about Love not being congratulated by his teammates. I never belittled his accomplishments, nor did I say all GMs would choose LMA over Love.

What was your point again, because you completely misrepresented by point, "Sex Panther".

Brrrrawr!

Blazers now ahead of Grizz in playoff standings. :)

Some Admins here are probably upset about this.

Sun, Feb 6

F Zach Randolph rang up 22 points and 17 rebounds against the Rockets after going for 29 points and 13 rebounds against Cleveland on Friday, and 22/13 at Minnesota on Wednesday. The man who was not named to the Western Conference All-Star team now has 37 double-doubles this season, including 23 20-point, 10-rebound games.

Great post. Pretty much spot on.

Honestly I don't even give a shit anymore.... the mere fact that Aldridge is finally playing at the level that we thought he could is fucking outstanding. The guy is playing out of his mind and I love it. Keep it up LMA!

Nows the chance to trade LaMarcus! Sell high!!!

Minnesota forward Kevin Love is a little surprised to see Tim Duncan on the West All-Star team.
Duncan is averaging 13.5 points per game – lowest of any West All-Star. But the 14-year veteran has provided strong inside play for the Spurs as they’ve raced to the league’s best record.
Love, who was added to the team as a replacement for the injured Yao Ming, said he thought that players with more spectacular highlights would be picked to the team.
“I thought Blake (Griffin) would get in because fans want to see dunks,” Love told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. ”Not taking anything away from (Duncan). His averages are down. He’s not the most exciting player. I didn’t see that happening, but the Spurs’ record and the coaches’ emphasis on winning ?.?.?.? I guess they had to take another player from the Spurs.”
Love also said that he didn’t get bitter about originally being picked because the Timberwolves’ record counted against him.
“I know winning plays a big factor,” he said.
That would be correct — as Duncan knows as he prepares for a 13th All-Star Game appearance.

He says that Duncan isnt an exciting player. Yo Kevin, you arent very fun to watch either!!! Not nearly as exciting as our boy Aldridge.

Kevin Love is such a douchebag. Good Lord. He plays on a 13-win team, the coaches didn't respect his once-in-30-years stats enough to vote him in, and now he is dogging on Tim Duncan, one of the top 10 players of all times, and winner of 4 NBA titles.

Meanwhile, "Mr. Excitement" Kevin Love has a whopping total of 17 dunks for the entire season, while old and hobbled Duncan has 20.

EDIT - because the comments from Spurs fans after that article are a must-read.

I was going to post the same sentiment, but you said it better than I could have. Repped.

Article about the All-Star snub on NBA.com.

......
Portland wouldn't be in postseason contention without Aldridge. That's why his allies -- Miller and McMillan, especially -- reacted so harshly to the perceived All-Star slight.

"They were pretty mad," said Aldridge, who's spending the All-Star break home in Dallas. "They've seen my play and what I've done first-hand, so I think they felt like I should have been there. Andre felt like I should have been there. Coach Nate felt I should have been there. That's just us being close and those guys having my back."

Aldridge wants to make it clear that there wasn't any lingering ill will toward Griffin, Love or any of the other All-Stars.
"I can't hold anything against those guys because those guys are going out and they're doing their job," he said. "I don't have anything against Blake or Love. Those guys are both really good players. They're both really skilled. They both have a knack to play this game."

Aldridge does, too. Even if some people outside of Portland haven't noticed.

LaMarcus Aldridge is a better basketball player than Kevin Love. I don't really care about the all-star game.

I'd rather LMA rested, but I'm pretty sure (and this is not cynical in tone) that he had some incentives in his contract that may have ridden on his selection, so I also feel (genuinely) bad about him not getting the bonus he deserves.

I feel bad for him too, all I meant was that him being or not being an all star means nothing to me in regards to his level of talent.

LOL. Still taking Love over Aldridge? I noticed you avoided answering in the other thread?

Both are second option types on Championship teams. I can't really pick between the two, both have their strong suits.

But, c'mon guys. Get over it. Love is an AS.

It is nice to continue seeing Aldridge improve, I'm happy for the fans as well. I don't really know what his prime is since this rise has been recent, but I respect him and Love.

hey Kevin Love...

Congrats on your 50th or whatever straight double-double. For your next trick, try winning a game or 2. I can't believe how overrated this slug is. Play some defense once in a while. Stat whore. Talk about a poor man's Christian Laettner.

Trade him for a player with a semblence of athleticism.

The Wolves are hardly a model franchise, they lost about 100 games in KG's last two seasons there.

Assuming Love did "step" it up on D and played above LaMarcus Aldridge level definitively, the 2011 Wolves would still be like the 2007 Wolves. Losing about 50 games, probably more since they have lower offensive talent.

I want to see the next updates on 82games so I can quantify their issues on defense, specifically at PF and center. Also consider that both Love and LA are talented, and even if LA is better since his prime could be impressive, no need to hate on others.

How does a team lose by 20 at home to Philly with an all-star up front? If only we had such a luxury!

Yeah they're all doing well. Too bad some people just go by reputation.
