I lost my ass in that game. Whoops, is anyone offended when I say 'ass'?
We always finished poker night with about 2 hours of Acey duchy and 2 card guts!
Like you I've lost my ass off but I've hit some big pots.
We play red dog version that if you double up 0n any card, you double the pot or portion you bet.
Great times...plus my old blue tick hound would chew up all the bottle caps then spit them out.
 
Okay, Lanny is in and has offered to bring the scotch.
I am the Scotch. I've got Scottish blood in my veins. Also, other stuff which makes me a typical American mutt.

Scotch/Irish/Indian here.

...and the firewater thing also applies to me...but part of my heritage dictates that I drink while part of my heritage says that I can't hold it.
That pretty much describes me. I'm pretty sure I've got some Irish in me.

Say, I vaguely recall you saying that you live in the South. If so, where? I was born in Atlanta and have a ton of cousins in Georgia and it Alabama where I've still got three of my aunts and another ton of cousins.
 
Yes. Like cooking a steak well done or mixing wasabi and soy sauce together into a slurry.
Charred medium rare. I like to set the fat on the outside, on fire until it gets blackened. Sometimes I freeze my NY before grilling it just so the inside will be medium rare. Then, I open a really good bottle of red from my collection. Next, comes a baked potato with sour cream, butter and chives. For veggie, this varies, sometimes it's grilled asparagus, sometimes brussel sprouts, other times grilled slices of sweet potato, spinach, turnip greens (yum), green beans.

Sometimes when we grill, we open a bottle of white that's been chilled. This is usually a sweet white. Last time we had a white it was ice wine (yum). I think I'll buy a bottle of Chenin Blanc that's sweet and chilled. That's the most delicious white wine I've ever had.

I hate drinking alcohol with food. I can do it with appetizers but that's about it. I usually drink iced tea with steak.

I always do the same order with steak.

Ribeye or NY, medium rare
Wedge salad to start
Creamed spinach on the side

...yes, because heaven forbid someone has a different preference than you. Not to mention that adding a little water to scotch serves a purpose as to the flavor.

A flick of water I can MAYBE understand but ice fucking sucks.
