Joe would like for it to be about that and at this point maybe it's turned into that but Dame brought his agent. So at the very least Dame went into this meeting thinking that asking out was an option.

That's always an option though. If he was set on asking out, he would have. The meeting tells me, he wants Cronin to convince him that there is still a vision. He just wants a path.

Yeah, he wants a path to Miami… that’s what he met with Cronin to discuss

That’s my point. If Dame was asking for a trade, it would be about a 10 minute meeting and a press announcement. This is about making moves that Dame will be comfortable staying for.
I really hope you're right.

You follow me around and started quoting me first, Einstein.

I wouldn’t even know you existed if you didn’t respond to every post I make. Anyone can look up our post history if they want proof. You are obsessed… and Dame is going to Miami.

A youth rebuild would likely mean being under the cap for the next three or four seasons and getting paid from teams that actually go into the lux tax to try and win titles.

I'm curious how the new CBA will change things. It would seem draft picks become more valuable, cap space because less valuable, trade exceptions can't be a game-changing amount. All these things will change the rebuilding process.

Dame has said before (fairly recently) that if he could play with anyone else in the league he would want to play with… Does that mean Milwaukie would be his ideal destination if he doesn’t want to be here?

I’d rather see Dame on the Bucks than many other teams and I could probably cheer for Dame and Giannis in the East.

They probably have the worst assets to offer us.

Doesn't fit his (reported) criteria of not wanting to be on a team that has 3 all-stars.

If you take the teams with 2 all-stars and the ones that aren't contenders off the list, the list becomes really really small.

Not by drafting Scoot.

He was fourth on my list. 1st. Amen 2nd. Miller 3rd. trade for star. 4. draft Scoot. Scoot is the most redundant if you are building around Dame.

I like Amen a lot, but right now he is basically a taller Scoot. So wouldn't he also be considered Dame's replacement? He might end up as an SF, but not until he improves his shot. The smart move was to take Scoot because according to most reports, he provided the best chance for a trade. Did it happen? No. But until I hear a legitimate offer that was made for #3, Joe did exactly what I would have done to try to get Dame help. It is still June, we will see what happens. But as of now, I don't have a problem with his moves in the last month.

...yes, but identified just one person.

Agreed though, that this is becoming more an more of a gotcha, I'm right, everyone else is wrong, monologue versus a welcome exchange of at least somewhat realistic discussion. It's why many have left, or started their own private sites or chats.
Takes two.

Marang said the meeting is already done. May not become public what was said.

If they stay tight lipped about it the next news will be a trade that tells us the way the meeting went because it will either be a trade for a vet to make us much more competitive or it will be Dame getting traded. I honestly think that one of those two things happens in the next couple of weeks.

From Marang:

- Doesn't think we were ever seriously thinking of trading 3.
- 3/Ant was never offered for Siakam - maybe because of the contract thing.
- They tried to go for Mikal on draft day. They tried again after. This was the only target they went hard at and it didn't work.
- 2 other teams tried calling about 3 but the asks were astronomically hight.

Danny Marang just stepped away from his live stream to answer a phone call…
