I think the fact that we haven't already won tonight's game is grounds for a meltdown.

I don't meltdown over the Blazers anymore. Not when I can see that today's NBA is all about money, and nothing else. Not even the game itself matters to them anymore. Today's NBA is the most boring, overhyped the league has ever been. I can't meltdown over my Blazers for the league's problem, but the NBA has my disdain for ruining the game of basketball.

Meltdown(ish) over. :topicclosed:

Channeling my inner Lionel Richie.

Just once
Can we figure out what we keep doing wrong?
Why the good times never last for long
Where are we going wrong?
Just once
Can we finally find a way to make it right?
Make the magic last for more than just one night
Just once

Anyone else notice how fans' passion for teams can be described by the torchiest of torch songs?

A constant reminder that "fan" is short for "fanatic".

A road game against the struggling Lakers and then 3 games against relatively weak competition...my fan side says we win all 4 and are once again in happy mode by the All-Star break. OTOH, if that doesn't happen, I'll probably be singing, "Cry Me a River".

Torch ON! Torch ON!
Torch until the torch comes TRUUUUUE!

My meltdown is slowly being replaced with apathy.

*Bump*

After back to back blowouts against teams ahead of us in the standings, I'm starting to worry about this franchise long-term. We went out and used major draft capital to add RoCo, signed DJJ with the MLE, and swing a deal for a legit swingman in Norman Powell. The roster is good, yet we are underperforming and historically bad on defense.

In what feels like a make or break year (and another year of Dame's prime), we're further away than ever.

* Nurk: Free agent in 2022
* RoCo: Free agent in 2022
* Kanter: Free agent in 2021
* Anthony: Free agent in 2021
* Collins: Restricted free agent in 2021
* Jones Jr.: Player option in 2021
* Powell: Free agent in 2021

If we lose Norm for nothing this offseason, it could get ugly.

I think a lot of us would like a new coach and GM this summer, but even if those changes are made, the roster could be gutted if we don't handle these next two offseasons properly.

I agree.
The way things are going right now it most definitely could get ugly.
Looking at a 2-3 year complete rebuild in the middle of Lillard's prime. Seriously this won't be a re-tool. Blazers better get some things straight quick.

Bumping for others.
It’s preseason and they have a new coach.
Give Chauncey a season or two?
You can’t chance the entire system in a month.
But make no mistake this might get worse before it gets better.

exactly.
Refreshing to read a level take. ;)

That was James Ingram Bro. Another great singer. Sorry

Yeah. I lost a bunch of enthusiasm.

Still Blazers are my team and as my profile picture says "Loyal to the Soil".

I'm going to watch them even when it becomes bad always hoping they will turn it around. Please lord let them turn it around!

What meltdown? This is the same show as I've seen for at least 4+ years. Too small, little defense, and too much 1-on-1 while ignoring teammates who are shooting much better.

Seen it too much and for too long for it to be a meltdown now.

Nothing new....sadly.

It would be like watching the 20th season of Big Brother (or whatever season they're on now) and expecting something different/new/fresh.

From hence you go into pain that is eternal
From hence you go among souls who are lost ...
Abandon all hope, ye who enter here
