For the record, Curling is dope. Let's not get it twisted.

Also, I will admit I'm getting a bit geek'd out about the WC. I'm really enjoying it. I've decided Soccer reminds me of hockey a lot. The strategy in ball movement, the passing, the way they defend, the positioning of the players and the limited scoring. I'm starting to pick up on a lot. It's not just a bunch of dudes running around. There is some interesting strategic things happening. Kind of cool. I do wish there was a tad more scoring, less diving, and maybe one more ref on the field. But other than that, I will admit this is an interesting sport.

One question - if a player gets a red card, that player gets tossed out of the game, right? Does that mean his team has to play with 10 men the rest of the game?

Glad to hear you are enjoying it! Once you really get into it, and understand it, you can see with good reason why it is called "The Beautiful Game".

As for your question... yes if a player is lost to a Red Card, they are down a man for the rest of the match.

I think if there was less players on the field, it would open things up and add a bit more scoring. I just think it's sad to see a guy make a series of beautiful moves with the ball and then...... nothing. We just don't get that in basketball. Watch a guy make a nice crossover and hit the J or dive to the hoop and reverse it in. I think there's too many guys clogging the area around the goal, and yes it makes scoring special, but the game can be soooooooo slow sometimes.

David Villa helping my cause :)

I love how Yanks start watching the sport and get all these ideas to change the game. ;)

Glad to hear it. I love how different teams can have diverse tactics. Spain love to pass the ball around until they find an opening while Germany like to stretch the game to create holes in the defense. Jose Mourinho is a master of defensive tactics and has won countless trophies with his style of play.

The only thing I would change is, I would declare the winner of MLS Cup the world champion, but that is all, nothing radical.

You aren't American, you immigrant!

true that! My dad is from Mexico!! Even though he is more americanized than George Lopez.

Ok. Help clarify more soccer madness for me. The most popular, most talented league in the world is the English Premier League, correct? That's the league that Man U plays in, right? Assuming that the Premier league is like the NFL or NBA of Soccer, which WC team has the most Premiere league players? How many does team USA have? I think our goalie is a Premier league player. Am I way off base here? Soccer for dummies.

Basicly yes, the Prem is the best, but it doesn't translate that easily. Some still argue that La Liga (Spain) or maybe even Serie A (Italy) are the best. But don't sleep on the Bundesliga (Germany) or the underated Ligue 1 (France). So there are a few top leagues really, kind of like college football, but with playoffs (Champions League/UEFA Europa League)!!

Yes ManUre plays in the Premiereship. It'd have to be England who have the most Premiership players.

USA have six players in the Prem, one in the Championship (2nd div England), three in Germany, one in Spain and one in France, two in Scotland, four from MLS, one Denmark, one Norway, one Mexico, and one from Italy.

Spain have 20 players from the La Liga and three from the Premier League. Just thought I'd share that interesting fact.

One Italian plays outside of Serie A.

All the Germans play in Germany.

French: 11 Ligue 1, 7 England, 3 Spain, 1 Greece, 1 Germany.
