Merged: The Draft Thread For Stuff About The Draft Including Thoughts About The Draft

Hamidou Diallo is 6'5 with a 6'11 wingspan and a 45 inch vertical.

Skill-wise, I don't know much about him. Isn't a good shooter, but those measurables are nice.

Has the profile to be a great defender. If he can develop his jumpshot then he'd be a good athletic 3-and-D player.

Kyle Kuzma playing his way into the 2nd round lol

I like the Alonzo Mourning comp for Ike Anigbogu. The Tyson Chandler comp for Patton isn't horrible either.

I was already on the D.J. Wilson bandwagon, and now that his measurements came out, I'm even more so. 6'11 with a 7'3 wingspan. The dude has a 9'1.5 standing reach at PF, which as big or bigger than Rabb, Giles, Allen, Motley, and Swanigan. Can shoot, is athletic, can handle the ball a little bit for a PF... I'm hoping we land this dude.

One of the biggest surprises for me: John Collins registered a 37.5 max vertical leap.

This dude doesn't play athletic at all. His 37 inch vertical doesn't translate to the way he plays at all.

DraftExpress new Mock Draft has Donovan Mitchell going 12th.

That's a guy I don't want. Yes, he'll be a decent defender, but I'm not sure how good he'll be on that end of the court. He's undersized and his offensive skillset isn't great. We don't need an undersized guard.

If he goes 12th, that makes it more likely that Justin Jackson falls to 15, which would be a great pick.

Tyler Lydon has a body fat percentage of 13% or so, which is the highest among prospects. I think that an NBA training program could transform his body. He's already athletic and a great shooter, so a high body fat percentage might be a good sign for him because it means there's a lot of improvement to be made on his body and he's already been a good player despite his "chubbiness".

Somebody comped Patton to Brenda Haywood. I think he's closer to Brenda than Mourning.

Tall white guy from Syracuse. What could go wrong. MM?

IMO the biggest (likely) winner of the measurments will be Big Ike.

He's built like a taller Ben Wallace already - only 18 years old.

I called it.

6'10" | 7'6" wingspan | 9'2.5" reach | 250 lbs | 18 years old

The most impressive physical specimen in the draft.

More of a 3/4 tweener. Looks like Sam Dekker or Chandler Parsons. Late first, early second sounds right. Won't play defense, being from the Cuse. Hope we stay away.

A little perspective of how impressive Big Ike's numbers are:

Oden: 7'0" | 9'4" reach | 257 lbs (7.8 bf%) | 7'4" wingspan | 19 years old

Anigbogu: 6'10" | 9'3" | 252 lbs (5.4 bf%) | 7'6" wingspan | 18 years old

Bell's physical numbers aren't impressive but he has all the intangibles that most guys don't have.

His defensive awareness/timing is elite. His shot blocking 'feel/timing' is what Rodman had for rebounding. Maybe that's takinf it WAY too far but his lack of size shouldn't sway you away when you consider his defensive cerebralness.

I think Bell goes in the first. If Ike is gone before #15 I'm looking at Bell with either MEM/CLE picks.

great agility drill times for anyone not just bigs too. nice.

I was watching Giles agility drills today and for a player with all the injuries he had in the past I would say he pass that eye test.

He's not gonna have the same impact on the defensive end. He doesn't have the size to be a game changer there, but he'll be okay. However, he has no offensive skills whatsoever. I think he'll be a smaller, more offensively challenged version of Ed Davis. I would hate for us to spend a 1st on him.

What SF has ever been good in the NBA from Oregon???

None.

So I'll pass.

Just kidding. That's some of the twisted logic certain people use in these parts.

The biggest thing to come out of 5 v 5's was probably Frank Jackson. There's a few teams with late 1st's that need a PG so I'd expect him to keep his name in. Still has a lot of development to go to become a true lead guard, but he was clearly the most dynamic scorer on the floor today.

Still don't like Semi or Robinson at all at #26 (I truly think both are scrubs) and still want Neil to somehow grab a 2nd to take Kadeem Allen. Got beat a couple times to day, but shot looked translatable, got into the lane and made the simple, unselfish play. We need a point of attack defender + shooting skill set and he offers an opportunity to get a guy like that on the cheap who just might be able to give us minutes next year.

Not sure there was any guy but Frank that looked like a first rounder to me--Jeanne isn't Gobert 2.0 and has a ways to go--although Jordan Bell and Kyle Kuzma (Jon Leuer type) might have helped solidify themselves as upper half 2nd round picks. I don't think we learned anything new about Bell today--he went up against a pretty lackluster set of bigs--but his twitch/timing/athleticism is truly unique, but he's still SF sized and needs to be a small ball C to have value.

If he can hold up in that role, plus hit a mid ranger and pass in short roll situations like he did today, he definitely gives himself a chance to make it.

P.J. Dozier's strengths weren't highlighted today (didn't get to handle it much), jumper was hot/way cold and wasn't locked in defensively. Burst w/ the ball and pop in the lane are definitely issues too, but still like his size and fluidity and his overall potential once he gets into an nba strength program (I think he has room to grow athletically) and gets more confident with his jumper and overall game.

Out of all the guys that are projected 2nd rounders, he's one of the few with considerable upside imo.

Phew. Good thing you I caught that last. I was about ready to go nuclear. You guys can bash Brooks and Dorsey until the cows come home. But when I even think of people bashing Jordan..... I just I GET SO ANGRY. (grabs small decorative stuffed animal and begins to stab angrily.)

I agree we should not waste a 1st round pick on Bell, but to say he has no offensive skills whatsoever is a bit of an embellishment. The guy shot 66% from the field last year. Granted most were dunks but not all. He ha a good jump hook and a decent mid range jumper....but no 3 ball range.

Bell is the same height and has the same wing as Kenneth Faried and IMO can make it in the NBA if placed in the right situation. Playing for Terry Stotts does not seem like a good fit though. But I would definitely take a chance on him in the 2nd round....if we had one. But not with one of our firsts.

Chad Ford:
Rawle Alkins leads all scorers with 18 pts in opening game of Draft Combine. Jordan Bell was really good: 13 pts, 7 rebs, 5 blks, 5 ast
