If Wes could play a little point, which he can't. Mushidi is a combo guard.

They're are both pretty bad comps.

There's not a current NBA player that sticks out, but he kinda reminds me of lesser Jordan Adams who came out of UCLA a few years ago.

Mushidi will never play PG in the NBA. He might be able to guard some of them, but he'll never run an offense. Not a good ball handler, not good in pick and roll, not a very good passer. He's strictly a 3 an D guy imo

This.

I also saw one mock with Minnesota taking Collins at 6. If that happened, I'd be all over trying to trade for Dieng.

If that were to happen, Dieng is a player who I think could really help Portland that would cost a lot. He will be 28 this next season as he was 'old' entering the Draft but still within the age window that fits for the Blazers.

I just thought I would check out who the Pacers have been working out, to see if there was any possibility they were thinking about having Portland's multiple picks available. Well the only three guys who are projected by most mocks to be first round are TJ Leaf, Ike Anigbogu and Jordan Bell. The Pacers have an 18th and 47th pick in the draft so it's difficult to read too much into it. However, if they were having multiple picks, I think they would look at a lot more (and maybe they will.)
Here's the other guys they have had in: Caleb Swanigan, Josh Hart, Derrick White, Wesley Iwundu, Monte Morris, Sindarius Thornwell, Dillon Brooks, Semi Ojelwye, Trevor Thompson, Ben Moore, Mike Young, Trevor Blueitt, Davon Reed, Vince Edwards, Moses Kingsley, Jabari Bird, Troy Caupain, Peter Yok and Bryce Alford.
I haven't been able to find any info on further workouts but last year they had 7 workout sessions, the last being on June 16.
I've always thought working out a lot of guys makes sense, getting to know them, trying out things that maybe they didn't have a chance to showcase in college, etc. I mean, what's the alternative; watch game videos over and over. (Isn't there enough time to do both?) I guess I'm saying it concerns me a little that Portland isn't doing more workouts. If their plan was to consolidate picks in a player or draft trade, wouldn't they want to see a lot of guys who might be needed to fill the roster?

Speaking of filling the roster, Any pattern to the position that Pacers are working out? Lots of SG and SF might mean filling a George sized hole.

Zach Collins looks like a giant in this photo.

Would anyone be interested in doing a simulated draft? I was thinking if we got 3-5 people and randomly assigned each person a few teams, that it would be interesting to simulate a draft.

Like a Model UN kind of scenario?

the first round guys so far are bigs. might be trying to trade thadeus Young.

shot under 30% from collegiate 3pt. line. think kemba walker before he learned how to shoot.
maybe when he developes that shot.
He's also super light weight at 6'4" and 187lbs.

Here is a mock draft from some site called Chatsports; I have no idea if they are bozos or smart guys. They suggest Portland trade 15 and 20 and 2018 first to Minnesota for #7 and then draft Jonathan Isaac. I'd be surprised in Minnesota would do that. http://www.chatsports.com/nba/a/2017-mock-nba-draft-version-70-full-two-rounds-trades-33739

They wouldn't. They need quality over quantity at the moment. If they trade that #7 pick, it will be for an older player who can contribute now. It won't be for two later picks when they already have too many young players.

Okay fine, you talked be into it. Crabbe and Leonard for the #7 pick. :bgrin:

Aminu, Davis and 15 for Pekovic and 7?

Since we're talking about unlikely trading up scenarios....
Harkless + #15 + #20 for Josh Jackson is what I'm interested in (probably with Kings @5)

I've seen Minnesota fans saying they'd take the 15 and 26 plus Aminu for the 7th pick. If we could get into the top 5 with the 7 and 20 and Jackson drops that far that would be amazing.

Wait....the team could get rid of Aminu?? And NOT take on an anchor contract?? GIDDY UP!

I would not even move up from 7, Jackson will not be available at 5 anyway as Philadelphia or Phoenix will take him. If we can get Tatum there though, we should. But I would probably prefer Isaac at 7 and then a power forward at 20.

If we have any chance at getting Tatum we need to try. He'll be the best player out of this draft.
