Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

That's why I said "in terms of production." I was speaking about the caliber of player he was, not his specific role on this team. In terms of demostrated ability, he's about an average starter level player.

OK, but the argument has been that he is an above average player in close games at the end. The stats back this up as well, as has been proven here and on BBF.

So why the continued anti-Outlaw stance from you? It diminshes your reputation, IMO.

Which stats, beyond the team's record? We've already agreed that that's not a very good statistical measure. As you said, "I've made that same argument many times."

Saying he's a big plus on offense is anti-Outlaw?

I'm not going to post them all again, but the stupid "Kyle Lowry for Travis Outlaw" threads on BBF showed what Travis meant last year in the 4th quarter, and even more so at the end of close games.

You are asking me to prove 19/24. I think it's up to you to prove how Outlaw playing meant the team lost those 5 games.

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

You are asking me to prove 19/24.

I haven't asked you to prove anything. I simply inquired about the stats you mentioned.

I think it's up to you to prove how Outlaw playing meant the team lost those 5 games.

Why do I need to prove that? I don't think Outlaw lost those games.

You posted earlier that perhaps the team would have won those five games without Outlaw in the line-up at the end. Do I need to be your post caddy? ;)

Yes. I said it was possible. How does that relate to me believing that playing Outlaw is what lost those games?

How does it relate to you posting in the negative about those supporting Outlaw?

I'm not really sure what that means. I said something negative about Outlaw supporters?

You seem to be following us into pro-Outlaw threads and bringing up counterpoints.

Isn't Travis a member of the team? What is wrong with a "Fan Club" thread dedicated to him, and why the treatment for those who appreciate what he does for the team?

I haven't said anything negative about Outlaw in this thread. My comment about his defense was in a different thread.

Very much so.

What is wrong with a "Fan Club" thread dedicated to him

Nothing.

and why the treatment for those who appreciate what he does for the team?

I haven't treated people who appreciate Outlaw (which includes me) differently than anybody else. If you mean the treatment by someone else, you'd have to ask them.

Your position is quite clear. Thanks for clearing it up in the "Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread". No need to rewrite history for the sake of saving face.

Good. I'm glad I could clear up my position on whether a Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread is cool.

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

I like Frye as a person from his blogs/interviews/etc, but please stay on the bench until you get a consistent J Chan-man!

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

So, others can feel Outlaw is the odd man out without being haters, right?

I think the people that think Outlaw is the odd man out are clearly letting their personal feelings cloud their judgement. Travis wouldn't be playing so many minutes and at crucial times of the game if McMillan didn't appreciate what Travis brings to the floor.

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

Decent game tonight. 13 pts, 7 rebs, 4 assts, 2 blks. Lots of big plays down the stretch.

Funny thing is I thought he was having an off-game, and then the 4th quarter hit...

Please provide one link to those "threads".

Please.

You distort others positions to buttress the irrational defensiveness you feel regarding Outlaw.

Yep!

He was absolutely having an off game, but he sure had a great 4th.

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

Travis having a great game tonight.

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

Travis had his bad plays tonight, missing crucial FTs and a shot at the end that would've given us a 3 point cushion. But he also did a lot of things right. He played game winning defense on the final posession. He SKIED for a couple HUGE offensive rebounds down the stretch and most importantly, he led us back into the game in the third quarter when we were down 8 and about to get blown out on our home floor. The 7 points, including a key three pointer (he shot 1 of 1 for the game, continuing to be one of the top three point shooters in the game today) and a fast break dunk, he scored in that stretch put us back in charge. He also had 2 steals and 2 impressive assists.

On the subject of assists, Blake had 4 tonight. Props.

Go Blazers.

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

TO's basketball IQ is killing me.

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

TO's basketball IQ is killing me.

What does that even mean?

He had a frickin great assist tonight where he drove to the hole, was trapped by like three Kings, and was still able to pass the ball to someone in the corner for three. Frye, I think?

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

That third quarter run was an 18-5 run over 5 minutes. Travis had 7 points during that run.

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

Worst player on the team by far.

Absolutely kills our offense on every possession that isn't a fast break

It means that it has been posted for 5 years now, so it must be true. His low basketball IQ is clearly why Nate trusts only Outlaw or Roy with the ball at the end of the game, and his low basketball IQ is clearly why Nate has either Outlaw or Roy defend the key offensive perimeter players at the end of close games.

He has a low basketball IQ! :ohno:

Medicore post. I trust you are just trying to get a reaction.

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

Travis was HUGE tonight. Roy had it going but he desperately needed someone to help out so Travis took the ball and took OVER. He was phenomenal tonight. Let's not forget what he did tonight. Roy wouldn't have been able to do it alone.

Some posters are complaining about Outlaw's performance tonight in another thread. It is absurd.

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

It was nice to see Travis get back on track tonight. He did what he does best, and just score the ball and we need that from our bench. I don't want to see him try to set people up, or drive all the way to the hoop.

Take that money one-dribble jumper, or he even had a nice finger roll tonight. He doesn't need to take it all the way to the rim and jam it. Hopefully this jumpstarts Travis. He showed a ton of emotion out there tonight, I loved it.

Re: Travis Outlaw Fan Club Thread

I heart Travis...great game tonight. Just wished he cashed in on the FT or one more of those 3's. But damn that tip-in was MONEY!
