Merged: Turkoglu to leave the Magic?

Hedo is merely the flavor of the month. Someone will overpay for him; I just hope it's not us.

Like Ron Artest last month? etc...

The best players play at both ends of the floor i.e. Kobe, Lebron. There is no excuse for giving Roy a pass on his D.

Secondly, Hedo is no worse than Outlaw or Webster at defense. He has a higher BB IQ than both of them and knows where to be on the court. Unlike either of them, he can consistently get to the rim and plays point forward all the time. He also is great at creating his own shot which is something we need desperately next to Roy.

For his defensive shortcoming Hedo is pretty good at forcing his man into double teams or into his shot blocking big man down low. We have enough shooters to space the floor and teams can't just leave him open from out there. I would like to see Outlaw or Webster moved if we were going to acquire him to save us from the potential logjam at SF.

Hedo is much worse than Outlaw or Webster at defense. He doesn't have their quickness. He also doesn't "consitently get to the rim." If he did, his shooting percentage would be higher than 43%.

Outlaw has no idea how to use his quickness. Neither does Webster to an extent. Hedo, based on pure BBIQ alone, is a better defender than both Outlaw and Webster.

And his shooting % is dropped by the fact that he likes taking long jumpers a lot, and his team is a 3 point shooting team. I'm sure that can be corrected.

I don't think he should get a pass but I don't think he should be guarding the other teams best player the whole game.

Neither do I think he should. I never said he should, we have Batum to guard other teams best player.

Turkoglu is slow, a below average passer, and not a clutch player. No thanks.

Not a clutch player? He has hit maybe 4 or 5 game winning shots over the last two seasons, including one against us in Portland and one against Philly in the playoffs. He is a great passer. He made the perfect pass to Lee to win Game 2 but Lee failed to put it down. Didn't he have a game against Cleveland where he had 14 assists. He is such an effective passer that Van Gundy has been able to use him at PG. He can, truthfully, play all 5 positions. If we add him next season, we'll win it all. He is the third scorer we didn't have in the playoffs this season.

Dude, did you SEE that game against us. He banked in a 3 from straight on! That is pure SLOP! I wouldn't even count that shot in a HORSE contest!

He's had numerous clutch plays in the past few years or so.

What about the shot against Philly?

What about the shot that should have won the game in Cleveland?

Clutch assist to Lewis in the Cleveland series?

Clutch block on Kobe?

Yeah...hmm, too bad it counts in the real game though :ghoti:

I agree. The guy just doesn't excite me much, particularly how he fits in with our team.

Like Ron Artest last month? etc...

Difference is that Artest actually brings things to the game we really need.

We'll probably have to get through Kobe and/or LeBron to win a championship.

I really don't see how Turkoglu helps us do that. I do see how Artest helps us do that.

No he can't.

I think KP could have been targeting Turkoglu, but with his play and the Magic playoff success things have changed. The magic will for sure match what we can offer.

Sure it counts, but it certainly doesn't mean he's "clutch."

dude, he's hit other game winners prior to this season

Here's one last season against the fucking champs:

There are others too. The guy is clutch.

Learn the game, then post.

Seriously.

here's the one from this year's playoffs:

4 game winning shots.

Conclusion: Turkoglu is clutch.

41% FG shooting and 3 TO's per game. Why would you want THAT on our team???

You can't refute my posts so you resort to name calling. Nice.

I don't want to refute your posts, I agree with them. But you are the one who insults people for their opinion. No matter how wrong a persons opinion is I think saying "Learn the game, then post" and then basically taunting them after you show your evidence by saying "Are you learning the game yet?" are petty, childish ways to try to put someone down because they don't agree with you.

sooo... Brandon Roy's slop game winner against Houston earlier this year... does not mean he is clutch either then right??? :D LOL

SLOP??? LMAO!!! That was nothing but net! Turkoglu banked in a straight away 3 pointer. HUGE difference!

I don't think you get it. Turkoglu has made clutch shots/plays in numerous instances! It's not just that one shot.
