Dude, at 2:50 he takes the ball by the three point line, dribbles left around three defenders and takes it to the rim like a PG. Made me laugh for some reason. Wish LaMarcus could do that.

Supposedly, LaMarcus is focusing on putting the ball on the floor this off season. That's one thing I like about LaMarcus, every single off season he has worked on and improved at least one aspect of his game.

I watched a lot of Leonard video the last day, and does anybody else get the impression if that he was African-American or a Euro, that he would have been a Top 5 pick? Some of his mid-range offensive moves are very nice, and he goes with both the left and right hand in the post. Plus, he finishes strong at the rim, and he is very muscular in his appearance, as opposed to just being a stringbean.

Agreed. I like that he can pass and catch the ball. Sounds like a basic thing, but I get tired of these big men that with stones for hands and are just awkward trying to catch the ball. Leonard can catch the ball, and in some of the video I saw, he is a good passer for a big man. Can find holes in the defense to pass through/around, which is something we've really lacked. He has a soft touch when shooting, decent range, he's athletic.

He's definitely going to be a project, but I think he has a lot of tools, that if he commits to getting better, he will be a solid contributor. Some guys, they put forth the effort and still suck. This guy has the potential - he just needs to put in the work to elevate his game to the NBA level.

It's imperative that the Blazers get somebody to work specifically with Freeland and Leonard. A true Big Man coach. I wonder how much Bill Walton would cost. :)

Yeah, we could use a big man coach - help unlock these guys' potential. And have him work with Coach Grg too.

The Sports writer @ the Chicago Tribune said that he was grossly misused offensively and could have been a top-5 pick in 2013 if he stayed one more year.

I see him passing out of a lot of double-team in videos to open perimeter shooters, so clearly the opposition respected his post game to the point they were doubling him later in the season. The potential is apparent in him. Now it's up to the organization to get him the proper coaching, and Meyers to put in the necessary work. As posted previously, though, I don't think work ethic is going to be an issue for either of this year's draftees. It will be nice have a PG who puts in work over the summer and doesn't need a 1/4 season (or a full season, in Failton's case) to get into game shape.

For real. He has almost as much potential as Drummond, and he's already more skilled. He may pout sometimes, but I'm certain he's going to give it his all.

These 2 are worth repeating. I've read that he has shed tears after some losses, which makes me like him. There's gentleness under that military bearing.

Most highlight films are 100% positive, but the last third of this displays his deficiencies.

I think I was in the minority here last time this was discussed, but I really hope the team brings in a real big man as a big man coach.

After watching the videos of Cooney, I see some good and some concerns as well. Hopefully he can be convinced to stop fading back on shots and STOP SWINGING AT BLOCKS

I've flown NYC to PDX first-class, and it's not a huge stretch to get moved up. I'm absolutely positive that the agent could've ponied up 25,000 frequent flyer miles to get her an upgrade, or, worst-case, loan a brother $1K until you can take your 6% out of his contract to get her moved up. I'm 6'1 and it's tough to sit in coach unless I'm on the window.

I declare his nickname to be:

Meyers Lemon.

"Cooney" isn't doing it for me. (And I'm old enough to know who that is, LOL.)

I'm probably going to go with "Leo" (saves me typing time) and "DL" for Lillard.

Although "The Omen" is pretty awesome. From the first time I saw his name was Damian (hell, every time I see that name) I can only think of "The Omen".

haha...damian lillard is now "On the DL". :MARIS61:

As lame as Canzano is... a heads up.... Meyers Leonard will be on Canzano at 4:30 today.

crackaz that listen to Brian McKnight and R. Kelly already were on that joint! (I think I said that correctly)
