Cronin came out after the season and said they would trade the draft pick no matter what it was outside of the 1st pick to Dame and he said this in a press conference look it up but again facts. Then they promised Dame after they drafted Scoot and co they would make a splash on day one of FA -- THEY DID NOT. This is just two of the most recent examples on how they lied to Dame but i will add another one even though you will not believe it. They asked Dame to sit out so they could get better odds which leads into my first point so tell me HOW they did not lie to Dame.

I am curious how you silly people will turn these facts into false facts -- hell you all should go work for Trump the king of BS spin cause you all are doing great and turning this into Dame's fault when he has little to none.

Show me the quote

I found someone who has laid out this whole line of BS on reddit and he has links and such and I will admit that was not exact quote but he did say it in a round about way through other media and such

I give credit to the other poster on reddit as he did the work I am just using it to prove to you that this is more on Cronin and co then Dame -- enjoy

So what you said wasn't facts? He didn't say that he would trade the pick no matter what it was?

Dame is looking like a major bitch. KD the snake didn’t even do this 1 team shit. Why spend 10 years building up ur rep/brand to ruin it in 3 weeks? Oh yeah…money.
The thing is it's COSTING him money. He'll not only make a nice income playing basketball, but he can continue to make good money by marketing. He's destroying that brand equity. It is beyond me why he's being so dumb.

And there have been some reports — that pass the smell test — that Ant and picks were offered for OG this summer. Masai said no. Let’s just assume Cronin actually tried. Actually made overpay offers. Let’s further assume Dame was told, and then he asked for the trade as building around him wasn’t happening. Keeping Matisse and Grant wasn’t enough for Lillard … which is totally reasonable.

How big does the swing have to be that it’s not just overpay but not worth keeping Lillard?

I don’t have that answer, but my guess is what tips that scale is named Shaedon.

Dame will be fine. To be honest I think this will be forgotten by most people in a year. Not on this message board but by the average fan. Same with those (Haynes) who are trying to say the Blazer FO will be hurt by not gift-wrapping Dame to Miami.

My interpretation of all this is that Dame wanted the team to be transformed into a contender, but the overpays necessary to bring in a star would have left the Blazers no closer to contention. So he is forcing his way to a contender. But as I've said all along, what team can give fair value for Dame and still be a contender? Certainly not Miami. Dame wants to go to Miami, but obviously wouldn't want Miami to be less of a contender due to giving up decent value to get him. Remember all the complaints on here about why the hell was Dame going on his podcast tour and making statements that were clearly tanking Portland's trade leverage? Seems pretty clear to me.

Ipso facto: Fuck Portland

Dame is going down the LA and Clyde path with fans. I honestly think when this is all said and done there could be a smattering of boos when Phoenix comes to town.

If he wants to play for a contender, that list could grow to 8-10 teams. I would have ZERO problem with that, nor could I imagine many fans would either.

Dame could have worked with the Blazers behind the scenes to get him to a team where he could possibly contend, while helping the Blazers with a soft landing via a multi-team deal. Respect and gratitude go both ways. Or not.

Whether we like it or not (and whether or not I buy this Goodwin hogwash), all roads seem to lead back to Miami...

And while that may not be ideal, I also don't think it is necessarily a disastrous outcome either in and of itself. What will be disastrous is if we choose to settle with Miami. If we are heading the Miami route, in my view, you'd better be getting the following:
  1. Jovic.
  2. Jaquez or Martin (if you can get both, great! I am also okay with either player being flipped for future draft compensation as well.).
  3. Three firsts from Miami (Miami must figure it out with OKC).
  4. At least one additional first and/or a young player with substantial promise from a team taking on Herro.
I can certainly understand that this won't be enough for many here, but I can live with this scenario. And if Miami or a third team is unwilling (and no better offers present themselves), I simply sit on Dame until that changes.

I agree, Dame obviously must feel a certain way about how Joe handled this whole thing. I think what gets misplaced is who Dame is being spiteful towards. I guarantee it's not us. I get being disappointed that he doesn't realize that there is collateral damage but with that said I'll say this again... this is Dame's life, it's our hobby.

I have stayed away from commenting on Dame since he demanded out. Trying not to do the "see I told you so" shit. I will say that every Blazers fan should take Dame/Goodwin spiteful words as an offense, absolutely. When discussing the Blazers I try not to use words such as we and us as I have formal journalism training on my resume from school only. Never actually worked in the field. But, there is no Portland Trailblazers with out you, I, Ed O, Mediocre Man, TBPup, MaxieP and everyone else that claims fandom. So no, this is not misplaced spiteful words. Dame knows what is going on and allows his agent to proceed on his behalf trying to stab you and I in the back. How? By trashing OUR team. Players come and go. Fans are born into their fandom. My kids have all been born in Arizona, but they are OSU Beavers, Blazers, Timbers fans. We have season tix for the Cardinals here so we root locally there and with the Diamondbacks and Coyotes. They watch the Suns. They appreciate them. But they were born Blazers fans. Players come and go, fans do not. It's in the DNA. WE, as a collective are the Portland Trailblazers. WE get to trash our organization, Not Heat fans, not players, not agents and certainly not Purple and Piss fans. Yes, take Dame and Goodwins words and actions personally. You are an extension of the team. I am certainly offended and might address it at some time trying to leave the victory lap out. Just two cents.

When the Lakers traded for Davis they traded a haul and won a title. Maybe Dame is not as valuable as he and many here think he is? He is a walk it up, shoot first point guard with little defensive ability. Great, he scored 71. It was impressive if you forget it was against the lowly Houston Rockets. I remember back in the day Rick Barry owned the Blazers. Big deal. How about breaking Stevie Blakes assist record. Maybe deferring more and getting the team involved in the game as a whole. Good players score, great players make average players good. Dame isn't elevating anyones game. Yes, he can go to Miami and get Butler and Bam easier buckets, but they are great players. There is a reason Ant played better without Lillard. And there is also a reason Sharpe played better without Ant. Same types of players.

LA fulfilled his contract, that is a big difference. He was a Free Agent and decided to go elsewhere. Dame signed his supermax contract and as soon as he could be traded demanded a trade. I know people are pissed at LA, but what Dame is doing is much worse.

I could start a crowdfunding to come to Portland for the game against Miami and boo this piece of shit during 48 minutes. You want to leave? Fine. But this "Miami or bust" is the worst he can do to ensure Portland is screwed.

Well, with all the talking of lying going on, I feel Damian Lillard lied to me. I've coached and mentored a lot of youth athletes in the last 30 years and over the last dozen I've told them to watch Damian Lillard, listen to Damian Lillard, he does it the right way, he doesn't expect things to be handed to him, he doesn't back down from challenges, he doesn't complain that the odds are stacked against him but he goes out there and makes himself better every year and doesn't get bogged down by the BS.

Now I have to explain to those kids that Dame isn't really that guy. He just said he was.

Fentress = moron yes man lackey

even that propaganda from dame isn’t overly positive. There hasn’t even been meaningful discussions and you think there will be?
