Simmons brought up a few names.

KAT
Ingram
PG
Jaylen

Can we work out a three way with Miami where Hero and Robinson go to Minny, Dame enda up in Miami, and we end up with KAT and a bunch of picks?

Think the Twolves should do it.

Just wonder what our appetite is for a 55 mil Towns three yrs from now. But the lineup is intriguing offensively anyway.

Scoot / Lowry
Ant / Sharpe
Sharpe / JJJ
Grant / Jovic / Murray
Towns / ?

To MIA:
Dame, Nurk

To Minny:
Herro, Nas

To POR:
KAT, Lowry, JJJ, Jovic, picks

No to Kat with this young group

forget KAT....Blazers are going to get out of Dame's super-max deal only to plunge back into a longer super-max for a lesser player

Agree. Can't see that happening unless it was a shorter deal. The Blazers will hopefully have to pay through the nose for Sharpe and Scoot because they are worth it, can't have KAT on an inflated contract at that point.

Jaylen Brown would be great. Ingram after that I think.

So what is the story on Orlando Robinson? Is he as good as a late 1st round pick? Good size and good offensive skills. Can he play any D?

I think if we could get Ingram the deal would be done already, talk about perfect fit.

JJJ and Jovic are the only Heat youngsters worth anything.

Orlando is on that Eubanks tier.

Orlando Robinson measured pretty well at the combine.
6'9.75” barefoot, 6'11.0” in shoes, 9'3.0” standing reach, 244.4 lbs, 7'4.0” wingspan at the 2022 NBA Draft Combine …
Good offensive game, just not sure how his D is.

So if he is Eubanks but a little bigger, he might be worth a spot on the bench.

Robinson would be intriguing, but the Heat just re-signed him, so I think it would be 6 months before he could be included.

True.
But in theory, Miami could place him on waivers & then Portland could 'claim' him prior to him clearing waivers.

There is a small risk that Houston, Spurs, Hornets, or Detroit would put a claim in - but I think that is a low risk.

I disagree. I don't think any of the three are worth much.

I don't see any value in Jovic. He's a slow footed Meyers Leonard... but at least Meyers would go inside the paint and attempt a rebound. I'd be surprised if Jovic gets a second contract. Miami can keep him for all I care.

Orlando is playable, and I agree that he's on the Eubanks tier.
JJJ has some value as well, but I think he tops out at a Pat Connauton tier of player (generally a net negative, but plays hard & gets a few highlight hustle plays - so you like their effort).

Why does it seem like we have the least amount of Bigs of any team?
We have 3 players over 6'8. 2 of those are borderline to even make the active roster, and Nurk may be asking for a trade.

Might we go into the season with Jabari Walker as our starting center?

Might be a pretty young guy. Dallas still is wanting another, more vet center. They signed Dwight Powell and even though he started a good portion of last season, his production is that of more of a back-up. Their 1st round pick, Derrick Lively, is one of the few unsigned players from a couple of weeks ago I believe. Just interesting coincidences.

They just recently used a big TPE to trade for Richaun Holmes, they have McGee under contract as well. Their front court is crowded.

Herro for Allen and Dean Wade works money-wise. But do the Cavs want Herro?
A lot of money tied up in the back court of Garland and Mitchell to add another guard getting paid 27M this season and that number only goes up after that.

Crowded, but still not really what they want. They would like to move McGee, and Holmes isn't really a center, even though he ends up playing there quite a bit, and there are reports they are trying to move him even after just getting him. This is from ClutchPoints:

"According to the latest reports, Holmes, Tim Hardaway Jr. and JaVale McGee are the three players under contract who the Mavs are trying to move this offseason, per Tim Cato of The Athletic. While THJ and McGee’s futures with the team have long been in question as Dallas tries to build a contender around Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, Holmes’ inclusion is certainly quite the surprise.

“There are three more players under contract — Tim Hardaway Jr., JaVale McGee, and Richaun Holmes — who Dallas is attempting to trade. Holmes is the likeliest of the three to stick around, while Hardaway and McGee can’t be on Dallas’ roster if the front office wants to conclude its offseason in the way they envisioned,” Cato wrote in his report."

We're not getting KAT (thankfully). We're not getting Jarrett Allen. We'll get a couple of young players who haven't done much and some picks, and that only after a couple of months of nothing.

Unfortunately, I think you are right. Especially if they like Caris LeVert backing up Mitchell. (and I assume they do)
Still, they would be giving up matching salaries so who knows......

I had never really watched Nikola Jovic play. I just watched some game 'film' with him, and have a question:

is Pat Riley using a Rope-a-Dope on the Blazers? trying to make the Blazers want Jovic because Riley is pretending he doesn't want to trade him? Because I'm not seeing it; I'm not seeing a lot of talent or upside. He just turned 20, has length, and seems fairly mobile, so he does have a path to being a good player. But he's a long way from being that player right now

obviously he represents an asset Portland needs to get if it's Dame-->Miami, but right now he looks like a fairly minor asset
