I could see Mike and Mike doing some college basketball together.

Woah haha ^^Steve Smith, he is was great during summer league and a couple national broadcasts.
I don't think they'll leave him alone....he could have guest color commentators for each game as well.I feel bad for Wheels. Especially on the road it's going to be extremely hard to do the work of two people. That job just isn't talking on the radio, it's also keeping up on the scoring, stats, timeouts, fouls, and tweets during the game. That's going to be rough for Wheels.
Not so sure the Blazers front office would think very highly of that but I'm sure the fans would.Id love it if @HCP put together a bittersweet video montage for Mike and Mike. I think we all would.

Wheels is a pro...he can host any banter or interview with coaches, players, etc....although I'd like them to hire an ex coach to do color for him...maybe a guy like Mike DunleavyI imagine it would be more difficult having someone new next to you every game than it would be just doing it by yourself.

He already does that with baseball now doesn't he? He's been broadcasting baseball for a long time I understand or at least I though I heard him talk to Tone about it a couple timesI know Wheels is a pro. A two man broadcast w/ someone you've never worked with before is difficult. There is a rhythm, it's a bit like a dance. Asking Wheels to do that with someone different for 100 games a season would be much harder. Jeez, all I'm saying is that this is going to be hard on Wheels.
You can offer to be his lap dog and do all of those things for himI feel bad for Wheels. Especially on the road it's going to be extremely hard to do the work of two people. A producer can do the stats, etc.Play by play in basketball is much faster and much more difficult, imo.
I honestly think Wheels will be relieved to not have to steer Tone's wandering attempts at humor back into the game...I'll never forget Tone talking during a game about beating a journalist with a lead pipe if he could....I was speechless but Wheels turned it around like the pro he isI know Wheels is a pro. yeah but Wheels IS the play by play guy so that's not a problemPlay by play in basketball is much faster and much more difficult, imo.
I'm sure it'll be hard but I don't think it's dismissive to discuss the situation. I also don't think he'll end up solo for long1. Wheels is our longest forum friend and happily meets w/ us every year.
2. He reads this forum.
3. Instead of being so dismissive, trust me when I say this is going to be hard for him. It's going to be twice the work.
It's not like management doesn't know these guys. It must have been a tough day for everyone in the organization.
I hate Seattle fans moredon't forget Houston fans
