Sure. If the goal is to appeal to the California transplants, and turn their back on the life-long Blazers fans, it's possible McGowen is well on his way to accomplishing that.

The blazers did that years ago by going Comcast only. This is just more of the same direction.

Dwight James seems to think a Seattle-centric team of Kevin Calabro and PJ Carlisimo would make sense for the TV side.
Oh god please no PJ Carlesimo. Just my luck after a decade of not being able to watch games, I'll finally have access to games but won't be able to stand to watch.

I feel bad for Wheels. Especially on the road it's going to be extremely hard to do the work of two people. That job just isn't talking on the radio, it's also keeping up on the scoring, stats, timeouts, fouls, and tweets during the game. That's going to be rough for Wheels.

I'm sure a lot of that stuff is done for them, and how much of that did Antonio actually do? I'm not saying he just sat up there saying shit, just I don't know if that was part of his job.

Has anyone suggested Greg Oden yet? He wanted to be a dentist, and listening to him would be like pulling teeth. He probably owes the Blazers an unpaid internship, too.

I wonder if we'll ever find out the true reason for their dismissal, much like we never heard the real reason KP was fired.

Just by Tone talking gives Wheels time to gather and organize notes to call the rest of the game.

Oden's so rich, he could just pay someone to be an unpaid intern for the Blazers.

Some of you are overthinking things. Blazers don't care that much about being Seattle's team. Who does care about that is whatever company is going to win the next Blazer TV contract. Whoever it is is going to pay an insane amount and will have to try and earn that back by showing the Blazers in as many markets as possible.

I love the fear that so many of the fans have that the team is going to move to Seattle. It makes for good reading while i'm taking a shit.

I know there are secret plans to place pontoons under the Rose Garden, slide it down into the river, and turn it into the world's largest yacht. You notice Paul Allen hasn't bought a new one in years. Now you know why.

I have my fingers crossed the Blazers don't screw the pooch on this transition, and I'm holding my breath they don't re-up with Comcast (oh god please no).

The fact they expect Wheels to fly solo does not fill me with hope, however. They really need to reconsider this.

And remember, these are the same clowns who kept Harvey for what, 10 years or something? I would have let him go by Christmas his first year.

With his partying and solo boozing ways, I bet he's well on his way to being one of those broke former athletes our parents warned us about.

Pretty crazy that this happened today. Was just talking about this possibility with my brother recently. I'm excited for whoever they choose as replacements as I was never all that fond of Mike and Mike. Funny bunch though, don't get me wrong! Change isn't a bad thing!

I was always like, "it's gonna be sad when mike rice retires" thinking mb would carry on without him with somebody else one day and here they are both getting fired out of no where. Weird

Boycott the Fan Fest. No posts about it. They don't give a shit about the fans. Its all about the money.

I'm going to engage less and less with the Blazers on social media and with their fan outreach. I'm just seeing them for what they are, a company selling a product. There is no family. There is no community. All of it is for the mighty dollar. Fuck this shit.

It's just wrong to treat mike and mike how they did. Now this is all about who they bring in because if they bring in two idiots and it feels fake, real Portland fans aren't gonna like it one bit. I feel like they are really trying to change the culture in a way and I'm not sure yet if this will be negative or positive. It's the way this was handled. Doesn't seem like mb or rice were warned of this or anything. Mb said he was blindsided by this. That's not how you treat these dudes who have been here for years and years. They really loved what they did too and they could tell. I loved the combination of them. It was perfect and yeah they weren't the best broadcasters but something about them to me as a Portland fan made them perfect to me. They deserve at least their own show or something. Give them something
