This is mostly trueYou know nothing
What the hell is a dusty cam? This is not one of my own suggestions. A texter sent in the name The Portland Yeti(Oregon), with a call out to Sasquatch on Dusty and Cam yesterday morning. They both seemed to like that, Cam especially.
What does everyone else think? Like it or hate it?
He's twice as ugly as he is mean! #BAMDamn your mean
I can't believe Mrs HCP showed you our videos. Is NOTHING sacred? He's twice as ugly as he is mean! #BAM
I don't think its mandatory we use Portland. The owners can call it what ever they want, the last thing Id want is for the Mayors office to determine what the team will be called.
Yes, "a number". 3. A very low number, but a number just the same. There are a number of teams in MLB that proudly identify with their Statehood.

that philosophy would make math so much easier. All numbers are the same. Taking sides and saying one number is better than another is what divides this country.

You're right about one--I missed the Twins.I counted 6
NY
NY
Minn
Texas
Colo
AZ
whatever, NY can be interpreted either way, thats simple. You're right about one--I missed the Twins.
The Yanks and Mets are very much NYC, not NY state.
You said "proudly identify with their statehood". The "Bronx Bombers" and the "Metropolitans" have never done anything of the sort.whatever, NY can be interpreted either way, thats simple.

Call a team NY and play in New Jersey. You said "proudly identify with their statehood". The "Bronx Bombers" and the "Metropolitans" have never done anything of the sort.
sure.If it can be interpreted either way, you can't claim it either.
I agree it should be Oregon's team, especially from a marketing standpoint. You're going to want to draw from as much of the state as possible, and creating that statewide identity will help with that.Yeah, it's a red herring I guess.
Trippin....I haven't heard that since the 60's.
There are a number of teams in MLB that proudly identify with their Statehood. Besides most of the country east of the Mississippi would think of Portland Main getting a team.
Oregon........has a nice feel to it.
Since we know that Oregon would never have another MLB team why not not Oregon? Spread the love and excitement, plus from a marketing stand point it would be better, imo.
But really I don't care one way or the other, just get me MLB team.
[sigh]Has anyone said The Oregon Grape?![]()
Agreed on the "Oregon" identification - in this age of inclusionism, it's the best route to take.
The Oregon Grapes!
Trippin....I haven't heard that since the 60's.

I initially posted it as a half-joke. But the more I think about it, the more I like it.
The Oregon Grape is our state flower. While predominantly growing west of the Cascades, it does grow all throughout the state.
Additionally, Oregon is well known for its wines - naming the team the Grapes would connect the team to a more recent identifier than Pioneers or Lumberjacks. There are probably 10s of thousands of Oregonians who are connected to our grape industry.
Even though people say the Hops will leave when MLB comes in, The Grapes plays well with The Hops.
And we could invoke The Grapes Of Wrath during a stretch of good play. (Conversely, "raisin in the sun" when we're playing poorly.) And we could lease rights from Hanna Barbera to use The Grape Ape as an on-field mascot!
First off, that's a red herring. It'd never happen.
2nd, you're trippin if you think it shouldn't be the:
Portland ________
of course i the 60's it could also mean you were on drugs, tripping.I was born in 76" .
It's largely a term used in the black community.
It means anything from you're "talking out your ass" to you're "ready to fight".
